Walters Off to Stoke City
Wednesday, 18th Aug 2010 15:33

Former Town skipper Jon Walters is set to complete his £3 million move to Stoke City this afternoon.

The Potters are understood to have made renewed attempts to land the 26-year-old in the wake of QPR's interest at the end of last week.

Walters has been at the Britannia Stadium undergoing a medical this afternoon and is expected to sign on the dotted line.

Don't think he handled his exit well but would still like to see him do well in the Premier League, good luck Jon.

Good now hopefully we will bring in a couple of decent strikers. As we don't know what went on with keano (if you were an arse hole then piss off if not then good luck!) Whatever, time for us to move on and bring in a couple of strikers!

He will need to up his game by at least 20% from the best we saw 2 years ago to make any kind of impact on the Premier League.History will not rate him as any kind major contributor to ITFC.

The best kept secret in Ipswich lol

Hopefully the £3+ million we will get from this sale can be put to good use, we seriously have to get numbers in now-Keane has more than kept his word and shipped god knows how many players out this summer and with under two weeks left of the transfer window and such a small squad we must get new players in, not panic buys either come the last day of the window. We surely have a nice pot of gold to attract a few decent players.

Good riddance to Walters though, I think we will be a much better team without him and Norris will be a far better captain. UTT

Some wise word that were once spoken... Be careful what you wish for! I think this may be the case for JW! I don't think he's premiership, I really don't.. I can't remember the last game I left PR thinking how good he was or how lucky we were to have him on our side.. I can recall getting really pi$$ed off with how his pace had deteriorated and how he looked less than sharp!
THREE MILLION PLUS FOR HIM!!! Ha ha ha ha!... God I bet this deal even woke Old man Clegg up!!! Now get spending man and give us what you promised.. a decent 20 goal striker! COYB's

I don't believe this is as one-sided as Keane has made out - in the fullness of time I am convinced it will transpire that Keane is the reason he (and many others) have wanted "out of Ipswich"

That said, 3 million is an amazing price for a player that has been nowhere near his best for over 18 months.

Oh Jon Walters, its shame all those hard working displays you put in for us and that one fantastic season you had will all be overshadowed by your departure

Good business. Not a bad player and probably not as bad a man as some would have it....but £3m is way over the odds. Thanks Stoke.

Daily Mail (which we can all trust, right?) says Counago and Stead out, but Chopra in. Also, McCormack has been made available for loan now that scummer Bellamy has returned to Cardiff.
