Or how about making those prices available to everyone in order to get a full stadium and therefore lots of support for what will be a tough game?

Because it is a offer for those who spent alot for their season tickets, and it is basically a message from Clegg to the fans saying " cheers for buying a season ticket, your a great person and a great town fan, heres an offer for you for being such a good person", get me?

Having been discussing on the main board about cheaper prices for all I hope this offer is taken up and ITFC get 25000 plus.

Fill your boots!

Nice idea - the more fans at home matches the better the atmoshphere for all, including the players !!

Now all we need is Clegg to stumble onto field at half time and slurr out those imortal words ''Lets be hav-'' oh hang on, were not a complete bag of numpties, so that'll never happen ;)

COYB!!

It's a start! At least it makes me hope they are looking at the pricing situation and will try to find ways to do something about it.

Hi, They have been doing this for the last 4 years ( twice a season) nothing new!!

Fatboy added 15:01 - Sep 3
Yes, this is nothing new; I've been taking advantage of this three or four times a season for a couple of years now. The details are usually on the club website's ticket page, but this is the first time I've seen it advertised elsewhere. This is possibly why I've never noticed an increase in crowd numbers before!

I'm a bit surprised that it's being offered for the Cardiff match, though. Usually the promotion is for the more low-key games.

surely its obvious that they want a full ground and better atmosphere against a top championship team. Basically the message is "get behind the team and intimidate Cardiff" COYB!!!

Fatboy added 15:17 - Sep 3
You'd hope so, dreblue. In the past it seems to have been aimed more at regulars who were thinking about not going to a match because it was against a less glamorous team.

Maybe this represents a change of thinking at the top. It would be good to see 25,000+ against Cardiff and hopefully drown out their vociferous support.

This offer has been going the last couple of seasons, but I don't think it was well publicised and in the past it made very little difference to the attendance. So, thanks to TWTD for bringing this to our attention this time round.

The problem is that if people do not take up this offer, the club may conclude that reducing ticket prices is not the way forward when I think most of us believe that match day ticket prices are too high (up to £35 to sit in my block, whereas I pay under £21 a match with my season ticket). So, let's fill the stadium and show Mr Evans and Mr Clegg that cheaper tickets really will make a difference at Portman Road!

Hate to turn this fantastic offer on its head but had it occured to anyone that whilst us 'loyal, season ticket holders shell out full price'those who pick and choose get a bargain?. Don't ask me to buy a £10 ticket on my season ticket sonny jim!

Umros why dont u just stop been negative, if your that worried about it and feel the need to put the offer on "its head" why dont you buy tickets for your "mates" and charge them £15 and make urself a nice £5 profit, get some beers and turn that sulky kids face upside down and GET BEHIND THE BOYS!!

Nice little business proposition for you! That way your still doing your mates a favour, the people that you sit next to a favour by making u happy and also create a better atmosphere at the game! Enjoy!

Anything that attracts new supporters to the ground is a good thing. Hopefully they will like it, will buy a few (overpriced) match tickets, and will then later get season tickets or mini season tickets themselves.

I don't advise selling them above face value, as I think you'll find that is illegal. Surely we all have a few friends or family whom we wouldn't begrudge getting a cheap ITFC ticket?!

dreblue added 20:20 - Sep 3
I was only joking... I was more trying to highlight Umros negativity!

:-)

I dont think anyone would sell them more than face value, specially to friends and family! Cheer up Umros!!

Why should I as a season ticket find Mr Clegg four new customers who will get to see the game cheaper then me?

Umros added 22:01 - Sep 3
Maybe I should have been a fisherman............seems easy to get a bite on here!. Well said Big Gaz67.

Perhaps those against the £10 ticket scheme would like to outline an alternative way to bring new fans into the ground, or are we happy with ever shrinking attendances? I would rather go to a packed stadium making lots of noise rather than one that is a third empty. I also do not mind people (friends and family of season ticket holders!!) getting in cheaper than me twice a season, after all my season ticket works out about £12 cheaper than a match ticket for the other 21 matches (that saves me about £250). Let's reduce match day prices, introduce special ticket offers, give tickets away to schools...anything that could increase our gate and find us fans for the future.

Just a a reminder:

Norwich v Watford 24,348
Norwich v Swansea 23,852

Ipswich v Burnley 19,317
Ipswich v Bristol C 19,011

So already the Canaries have sold 9,872 more tickets than us.

There are 13,000 season ticket holders, if you don't know one then this is a good forum to find one; £10 a ticket is good value, but the same cannot be said about the food outlets, a hot-dog and a small bottle of C'berg for over 7 quid!
