The BBC will show Town's home UEFA Cup ties this season. BBC Breakfast News presenter Rob Bonnett revealed the news this morning.

Town's away ties could end up on another channel most likely Channel Five. Anglia are thought unlikely to bid for the games.

Town have clinched a £25 million long-term loan to pay for the entire current development. Town have negotiated a bond with merchant bank Lazard Brothers which will be payable over 25 years.

As well as the improvements to the ground, the cash will also pay for work at the club's Rushmere training ground.

The new bond replaces finance which had earlier been put in place to pay for the South Stand development. David Sheepshanks says the club were very keen to learn from the lessons of the past and didn't want a 'Pioneer Stand' type situation to occur: "Older supporters will remember the difficulties associated with the building of the then Pioneer Stand in the early 1980s for which specific funding had not been secured and which resulted in financial difficulties threreafter requiring the sale of star players."

The loan frees George Burley to spend more money on players.

The club looked at several options when deciding how to finance the developments with a flotation carefully looked at. This was ruled out, along with inward investment from a media company like Sky or NTL.

James Scowcroft is likely to miss Leicester's first game of the season tomorrow. The former Town striker has a slight knee injury.

Leicester play Bolton who include Ian Marshall in their squad.
