O'Dea Unsure of Future
O'Dea Unsure of Future

On-loan defender Darren O’Dea says his future is now up in the air following the change of manager at Portman Road. The Celtic defender says he was all-set to remain on loan with the Blues until the end of the season until Roy Keane's departure.

O’Dea said: “It was all agreed that my loan would be extended and I would be with Ipswich until the end of the season.

“But this was under the management of Roy Keane, and I don’t know now what will happen under a new manager.

“I want to stay, but I will have to wait for it to be sorted and I’m just concentrating on playing Arsenal in the Carling Cup at Portman Road on Wednesday and then the Championship game at Millwall on Saturday.”

> it seemed quite bizarre to me that he was chosen ahead of Delaney and Smith yesterday

Absolutely, I thought that. Smith has been a regular all season, and Delaney has a proven partnership with McAuley. So, who was picked? O'Dea!

Who do we choose Wednesday? If O'Dea is chosen again that is strange, but if he is dropped it is yet another change to the defence when we need stability.

Quick Jewell, come in and sort this lot out!!

Roy Keane really has d*cked us over! Even if we did go down I'd still be blaming him. Jewell has a big job on his hands.

I thought he did ok for the first couple of games but has gone steadily downhill since. He got found out Sunday big time..... I didn't realise until then how uncomfotable he is on the ball. Good players create time on the ball, it seemed he had no awareness of who was around him and panicked when no opposing player anywhere near. I'm all for not taking chances but it was embarassing at times. We'd have been better off with Stevie Wonder, at least he'd have heard them. The complete opposite of O'Connor who when fit should be in starting eleven

I'm not sure this would be a great loss, except perhaps from a cover perspective. While I don't like needless criticism of players, I've been slightly baffled by those who've been impressed by O'Dea. At left back he seems slow and lumbering, and at centre back inferior to McAuley, Delaney and Smith.

Play well you can stay if not see ya DoD, also think Jewell should recall all our loan players and give them another chance, competition for places not a bad thing.........

Kennedy, O'Dea and Healy NEED to go, - but we need replacements for them first!
They have all been shocking for ITFC so far. Some of the worst players I have ever seen in Town shirts.
Like a previous post said, when I see "O'Dea" on our team list,- it makes me think "Oh Dear"
Can't understand how he kept his place in the Celtic Team.
Jewell needs to give everyone a chance, but it would take a miracle for one of these jokers to be here next season.
Especially Healy. Is he the worst player ever to play for Town? He makes Ulrich Le Pen, Marco Holster and Adrian Paz look like World Class talent.
Sorry, but all he does is give the ball away and run around. I can do that.

Not a good attitude. If he really wanted to be here he would be saying things along the line of i can't wait to get out there and prove myself to the new manager! Doesn't sound eager enough. Ship him out jewell!

One of the main reasons why we continue to leak shocking goals. Some of his performances have been comical at times (comical if he didn't play for us!).
Must get rid. His negative attitude tells us everything we need to know about him.
The only loan player i have rated this season as being good is Andros Townsend, shows what i know about football,he can't be any good or else he would have stayed!
Are we allowed to put in another loan move for Townsend, and this time treat him right?

O'Dea should stay until we have found a suitable replacement. Any defender from League 1 or 2 should suffice.
O'Dea has obvious talent, but hes too slow for the Championship and seems to get nervous too easily and lacks concentration. His passing is poor and I don't understand why he enjoys punting 70 yard balls forward all the time. Poor in the air and his marking at times is atrocious. O'Dea should go, Eastman out on loan and we should GET A PROPER RIGHT BACK!!!!
