No Immediate Op for O'Connor
No Immediate Op for O'Connor
Friday, 11th Feb 2011 09:00

Midfielder or full-back Shane O’Connor will not need to undergo an operation despite missing out on winning a Republic of Ireland U21 cap this week having been struck down by appendicitis.

The 20-year-old will not be with the Town squad which makes the coach trip to Barnsley today for Saturday's game against the Tykes.

O'Connor, who is contracted to the Blues until the summer of 2012, could require surgery to remove his appendix at some point in the future.

Indeed he is, hamstring problem which kept him out early on, then the shoulder problem at Christmas just as he was back in the side, now this.

It's a great shame, no doubting his ability when he plays.

I'm confused. if he didn't have an op., he didn't have appendicitis. So, is he fit now?

Sospiri; I may have got this totally wrong so I'll apologise now, but doesn't grumbling appendicitis come and go ? Maybe they're hoping to wait until the end of the season before operating.

When I was learning about this 20 years ago, we were all told the grumbling appendix was a myth. Maybe its back in fashion? Or maybe he's got soemthing else wrong with him?
