Town Fans Set Themselves Derby Challenge
Town Fans Set Themselves Derby Challenge
Tuesday, 5th Apr 2011 11:42

Four Town fans have set themselves a mighty challenge prior to the derby against Norwich City on Thursday 21st April — to visit all 92 league grounds in the 92 hours preceding kick-off. The quartet, Tom Coe, Lee Whitmore, Dan King and John Murphy, are making the whistle-stop tour to raise funds for EACH.

TWTD reader Tom, 26, says an initial idea grew into the 92 in 92 mission the four AXA work colleagues have set themselves: “It’s quite a challenge but should be a really good trip, we’d been planning to do it in our own time but thought we’d try and make it a challenge and do some good for charity from it.

“As we were coming into work one day, we were talking about all the grounds we’ve visited for away games and how the smaller clubs are often more interesting. That’s how we came up with the idea to visit them all, and from there it snowballed. I’m really looking forward to it!”

Tom says the trek will begin on enemy soil: “We will be starting the trip at Carrow Road at 11.45pm on Sunday 17th April — 92 hours before kick-off — and plan to arrive back at Portman Road on the day of the game. Full details of our route can be found here.”

If you would like to offer your support to Tom, Lee, Dan and John, visit their Just Giving page here.

EACH needs to raise funds in excess of £4 million in 2011 to be able to maintain the support they provide to children with life-threatening conditions and to their families and Dan says all donations will be gratefully received.

Good luck lads. Would this be a World Record? 92 clubs in 92 hours is some challenge. I hope one of them can read a map... ;-)

CleverTrevor - There is no world record and guiness wont recognise it, however we heard of some Stafford Rangers fans doing it in 79 hours so that is our aim.

No maps just a Tom Tom so probably end up in Australia!

Quite a good way of raising money- going around football grounds all day ;) good luck though and a great finish to the trip would be smashing those budgies up.

Good luck lads, worthy cause, well done. Hope you've got your Tom Tom maps updated. Mines always thinks its going through fields when I can clearly see I'm on a road!
