No Signing Today
No Signing Today
Monday, 6th Jun 2011 16:52

Town are still waiting to make the first addition of the summer with no deal set to be confirmed this afternoon, despite a report of a signing being close earlier today.

TWTD understands that talks are continuing with a number of players but with none currently progressed to the point where an announcement is due to be made.

Elsewhere, Dagenham and Redbridge winger Danny Green, who was linked with the Blues last month, is reported to be the target of offers from Peterborough and Sheffield Wednesday.

Watford have confirmed that they have accepted Swansea’s £3.5 million bid for striker Danny Graham, who was the subject of an enquiry by Town earlier in the summer.

I think the problem is a lot of this speculation is raised on a daily basis by the local rags, who tbh would go bust if it wasnt for ITFC "news"....so they make it up!

They really are a complete bunch of toooooozzzzzzaaaas, but then they are narwich owned now arent they , so why are we surprised by this fact !

But why was this story ever put on the forum, if there was no deal then why say that there was, just a story about no story, basically a load of tosh, about the same standard as our club I'm afraid.

When we got Jewell I really thought that things would change, unfortunately they have'nt and we are still a club in a mess, I would not be surprised if he is gone before the end of the season, I bet he is really glad he took the job now !

I think town should have an open day of trials so we could all go up and have a go, bit like Britians Got Talent; you never know a local star may be found. That may be the only way we get some new players signed by the start of the season. I also think that agents should be shot at dawn.

Crazee - cheer up man, it's really not that bad. As the report clearly reads, we are in talks with a number of players, NOT CLUBS, players. I trust that we have a manager who can sell our great football club to any player that comes here for talks and, yes some of our fans are pessamists, but Town is a widely respected club in this country and has a very attractive reputation and a lot of potential. I can't help but think a lot of ppl are over reacting on here. I really think patience is a virtue on this topic, it's going to be a very busy summer I am sure!

Some of the 'Jewell is going to walk in December' talk is utter garbage. The transfer window isn't even open yet, and out of contract players are all in ongoing talks still, it's an utter nonsense, you cannot judge the situation this early. I can't help but think people are being rather impatient on this website with regard to transfers, and the negative comments about the guy who runs this website off his very own accord, is a complete joke. Long live TWTD!

I would rather us wait and sign the right players rather than Kilkenny or Nosworthy.....
The more I hear about Nosworthy the worse he sounds....truly hated by Sheff Utd fans....

if we got a press officer who knew sign language we could have signings every day and the papers and panic merchants would be content..... as..... man.

Gio to Seville for 4 million..........And we are being turned away by Donny due to sub standard 2.5 mil bids??? Wow.

Now Jimmy is available on a free if we pay his wages.... Or we can have him for 2 million...on decreased salary? Jimmy gets his money, we get a class player, everyones happy.

Why do these deals need to be left until the final 24hrs??

Dogsy40 :- I guess because Players/Agents are holding out for the best deal for themselves and managers/CEO's are doing the same but for the club. It must be harder for the manager/CEO, as they have to work to a budget and a salary cap [ to keep all the other players happy ] whereas, the players/agents just have to think about their own backsides ! I could be wrong.

I think we just have to be realistic and come to terms with the fact we just aren't a "dream move" kind of club no matter how great we all think itfc is.
