Jewell Hoping to Add Two More Next Week
Jewell Hoping to Add Two More Next Week
Friday, 1st Jul 2011 17:19

Town boss Paul Jewell is hoping to make signing number five of the summer next Tuesday with the sixth following soon afterwards. Already the Blues manager has added Michael Chopra, Ívar Ingimarsson, Nathan Ellington and Aaron Cresswell to the ranks during the close season.

Jewell says he's near to completing another deal, although was giving nothing away on the player's identity: "We are close, hopefully we'll make a signing next Tuesday.

“There are all kinds of names being bandied about, aren’t there? But we try and do it as quietly as we can.

"Hopefully by this time next week we'll have at least two players in here.”

As things stand, Jewell is targeting another three or four more players before the season starts on Saturday 6th August with a trip to Bristol City.

Not heard much on the Dyer front. Still think we will sign him. Not saying it would be the greatest signing just have a feeling he will end up here.
If he does by some miracle stay fit though he would be quality at this level

As I was saying, let's see what comes out of the magicians hat, and they start to appear like a line of flags one after the other. Well sort of ! Welcome aboard young Aaron.

I'd like PJ to start looking at our midfield now, and then concentrate on defence and maybe another striker (but I suppose when the right bid comes in and when we now have the money available I suppose we can start looking at all positions).
Defence: St Leger Midfield: Coppinger/Treacy Attack: Sharp
Whatever happens and now doubt more signings PJ has alot of work to do before the begining of the new season, because we could see up to 6 new players in the starting 11.

With PJ saying he hopes to get 1 in Tuesday, it must be someone who is in holiday to think the move over and will decide on his return. Also pretty certainly means its either someone out of contract or a loanee.
My guess is its Conor Salmon on a season long loan whilst the second player is either Dyer or Treacy. No def info just a guess.
I'm looking forward to finding out though

Agree with Johnny_Boy . Why on Earth would we want Bullard back? Too expensive. Too injury-prone. Too lightweight.

We are in much need of a play making midfielder who is comfortable on the ball. This position MUST be filled before the start of the season if we are to get off to a flyer and set the pace and breed confidence in the players and club.

Heard this crap before.

BTW why does anyone want to sign Faris Haroun? Has anyone seen him play?
