Dyer Completes QPR Move
Dyer Completes QPR Move

Former Blue Kieron Dyer has completed his move to QPR, having been released by West Ham at the end of the season. The 32-year-old, who spent a month on loan with the Blues during 2010/11, has signed a one-year deal at Loftus Road.

Dyer says he’s pleased to be staying in the Premier League: "I'm just delighted to be here. QPR are an ambitious club and when I sat down with Neil and he explained the vision for the club - specifically the hunger and the determination of the squad - I just wanted to be part of it. He totally sold the club to me.

"I've got something to prove after the couple of years I've had, but I feel good and I'm really looking forward to playing my part next season."

QPR manager Neil Warnock added: "When a player of Kieron's ability becomes available, you'd be crazy not to be interested.

"As far as I'm concerned it's a gamble worth taking. He really impressed me in training and it looks like he has been working hard on his fitness throughout the summer.

"I instantly liked him when we met. You get feelings like that as a manager. He's had a lot of problems, but he's got something to prove. He's a hell of a good player and I still think he's got an opportunity to impress with us.

"He has a lot of experience and is desperate to play in the Premier League again. I like the hunger he's got and he wants to prove a point."

After Dyer’s brief return last season, Town boss Paul Jewell said he could look to bring the former England man back to Portman Road on a permanent basis this summer, but lately his interest appeared to cool.

garv. i dont believe anyone is being negative or critical of dyer. just stating the facts that with an injury record like his, hes not worth the risk (certainly to us), of signing him. tbh, im surprised anyone would actually give him a contract rather than a pay as you play deal. guess it only the fact thatqpr can afford that risk a bit more that they willing to do so.

There are seasons for everything. The wheel turns.
Kieron is eking out his last couple of seasons.
What a wonderful player he was. What a great transfer to Newcastle to Bobby (and don't forget he took Titus too)
But now the wheel turns again. And to be positive we don't need too many expensive players who might be mostly injured
We need a TEAM and the psychology of a team.
So it doesn't really fit.

Thank you .
I was looking for the context. Trying to bridge the "disapointment" that he has chosen another route whilst trying also to value his past contribution to the club.

After all it is highly unlikely that he will be mentioned in relation to ITFC again. Which is quite sad. And we need to let it go.

There we are Blues1 that is my context!
