No Squad Number for Bullard
No Squad Number for Bullard
Tuesday, 2nd Aug 2011 16:27

Former Town loanee Jimmy Bullard has not been allocated a squad number by Hull City for the season ahead. The Blues 2010/11 Player of the Year appears certain to leave the KC Stadium this summer having recently been suspended by the Tigers for an alleged indiscretion during their pre-season trip to Slovenia.

The Blues were interested in re-signing the 32-year-old earlier in the close season but manager Paul Jewell ultimately decided the financial side of the deal was beyond the club.

Since then, Town have signed Lee Bowyer and are now targeting Blackburn’s Keith Andrews, so unless another central midfielder moves on, the Blues now appear unlikely to return for the ex-Peterborough, Fulham and Wigan man.

I don't care if Andrews runs like a girl as long as he tackles like a holding midfield player!

Amber and Black, i agree with you about the obsessed people on here, whats your reason for checking in?? could it be you are obsessed with what they have to say? might be a good idea for you to change your name from 'amber and black' to 'kettle and pot' ......COYB

Andrews and Bullard are completely different type of players, so we could accomodate both. May be the end of Leadbitter though, which I see as a backwards step given the comparable ages.

hollywooginge; and exactly where does your "STONE HARD FACT" that JB would take a pay cut to play for us come from. Did he tell you or did you read in in the papers - ohh now i see ......its called banter. Either way Hull are setting him up for instant dismissal due to misbehaviour or something akin to it. Then lets see if he doenst just go to someone who pays more that we will. Anyway happy with the way PJ has progressed with the signings to date but i agree we still need a playmaker such as, but NOT, Bullard

@Hollywoodginge

Jimmy Bullard is free to leave hull city afc whenever he wants, as long as we don't have to pay his contract off. If we're going to pay him, we're keeping his contract. If you come in with an offer for Bullard, the club would accept it, however Bullard has made it pretty clear he's not taking a wage cut, and with the wages the idiots in charge before gave him, he's not going to get paid as much anywhere as he is at hull. As for keith andrews, he's not too bad, I liked him when he was at Hull, but he does run like a girl ;)

Hows Damien Delaney doing nowadays?

Just get Andrews as a CB and Bullard in Midfield. No brainer!

I think Jimmy would be a rather risky move, great for moral, I for one was very happy to see him here last season, but he is no spring chicken, and prone to injury, I think we ned to move on from this topic, we just don't have spare cash to risk it.
I have been watching PJ steadly building the team around all this hype and speculation, and like what I see :o)
Quite a few players have come to us now that NEVER would have done under RK, so let's not worry over who we would like, and concerntrate on what we have, trust our club to PJ and sit back and watch us challenge for the Prem and "NUH" get thrashed 6-0 each week.....BRING IT ON!!!

If we can keep Leadbitter away from taking corners and freekicks and we can deliver the quality from dead ball situations that JB gave us then maybe we can get along without him very well.

And didn't a certain GB run like a girl?

I heard the reason for JB being suspended by Hull, was the fact that they discovered his plan to put itching powder in the Hull player's jock straps for the Ipswich game, bacause he wanting to stay with us. Hee Hee!!! (just joking)

Bullard can cok off as far as I'm concerned - If he wanted first team football he would have been here weeks ago.

This story is great and everything...but how about now switching to nigh-on hourly updates on a different non-ITFC player, unwanted at some other club and a few divisions lower than Hull? Just for a change really.

He'll end up at either West Ham or QPR ;)
