Town Topic: Finally Town's Year?

The pundits either have Town down as no-hopers or potential dark horses, but how do you see Paul Jewell's much-changed squad faring during 2011/12?

Who do you expect to be the main challengers and who do you feel will be playing League One football this time next year?

I'd go with finishing somewhere between 6th and 10th. And be happy with that as a platform for the future.

I can see us coming in at 8th, 9th or 10th - as long as we improve on last season, both in league position and quality of football, then I think that's a success. That kind of position, along with good transfer dealings next summer, will hopefully have us as real play-off contenders in 2012/13.

I think West Ham and Leicester will be the top two with Peterborough, Coventry and Doncaster getting relegated.

Its a tough division; a good start, get a bit of momentum going; avoid long term injuries and we'll be there or there abouts for an end of season push... start poorly and we'll be doing what we have for the last couple of seasons leading up to Christmas...ie; worried!

All depends on how the players blend on the pitch, how well they play for and support each other

i think we will finish just outside the playoffs 7th/8th . which will be a decent improvement on last season . with a real push under PJ the following year for promotion

Meant to add how lucky (unlucky) we are with injuries.

It's a tough one to call. Every year there's a surprise team. (who would have fancied Norwich this time last year?) But usually the quality TEAMs prevail. Good players will make good teams and by that yardstick we should have a chance. But again good teams have one or two great players who will make the difference at crucial moments. I still have doubts on that score although I retain a degree of faith that amongst the current squad we do have someone who will go on to be another legend.

I would love us to make the play offs but realistically it's probably a year too soon given the changes in personnel. A couple of additions during this season though could provide a nice platform for a real challenge next season.

My prediction: 9th

1. West Ham
2. Reading
3. Nottingham Forest
4. Leeds
5. Burnley
6. Southampton
7. Blackpool
8. Leicester
9. IPSWICH

We shall see!

I c us starting slow waiting for the new team to gel together October time consistently putting together good results then moving up the table, when january gets hear PJ can tinker with a couple of good signings to push us into the top six,as he still has a bit of the cw money to spend . Then who knows we may just do it at wembley!

Slow start, top 10 by christmas, then depends on jan signings and how the fitness of the older players is going.

Will be in or around the playoffs until May

Very happy with what Jewell's done over the summer..still think we're 2 or 3 players short..we'll do well to make the play-offs..if we can get those 2 or 3 players in then i'd fancy us to make top 6...Chopra staying fit is the key.

Not this year, It is a big project for PJ. Don't forgot we have had the heart of our team ripped out McCauley, Norris and Wickham arguably our 3 best players last year. PJ has virtually had to start from scratch. Despite some very good additions to the squad i think it will be one year to soon for us. But no worries about relegation.

Prediction 9th

I think we have a good chance of 2nd or 3rd if players stay fit and gel well.

Finally Town's year ?. No. Town's final year is nearer. Football is battle of the ballance sheets these days and we don't have a top 6 ballance sheet.

i think it will be a good season for us this year but we will miss out on the playoffs by either 1 point or gola difference, so i say 7th.
