The ITFC Charitable Trust is offering talented young players the chance to try out for their Player Development Centres (PDC) this month. The centres work with youngsters aged between seven and 15 who show exceptional football ability.

The Trust’s FA-qualified coaches enjoy a strong relationship with the Town academy and this season has seen PDC players not only trial but successfully attain places within the academy.

Trials for this season’s programme will take place from 5-6.30pm in Ipswich at Portman Road on 22nd August for players U8, U9, U12 and U13, Bury St Edmunds on 23rd August and Thetford on 25th August for players from U8 to U14.

Players wanting to register for trials should contact Amanda Ward on 01473 400749 or by email to amanda.ward@itfc.co.uk.

They need to spend more money in this department.

My son was in this but I pulled him out.

You get the feeling after a while this is just a money making exercise charging rediculous amounts for the kit required. If the boys are good enough ITFC should pay for the kit. But the main reason I pulled him is because they never spotted a condition he had regarding his achilles, legs and back. He is now under Guys hospital care, and I am keeping my fingers crossed they can sort him quickly as he is only 12 and has good skill, comfortable on the ball and already at a young age thinks about the game while playing. (unlike many adult players)
