Premier League Clubs Interested in Bullard
Premier League Clubs Interested in Bullard
Thursday, 18th Aug 2011 14:54

Former Blues loanee Jimmy Bullard is interesting two Premier League clubs and two from the Championship, according to his agent. Earlier today, Hull City announced their intention to terminate the 32-year-old’s contract after an incident which is alleged to have taken place on the club’s pre-season trip to Slovenia.

Bullard’s representative Simon Dent says clubs are interested in his player once his situation at Hull has been sorted: "This matter is now being dealt with by Jimmy's lawyers and we are confident that common sense will prevail.

"In the last 24 hours we have had interest from two Premiership clubs and two in the Championship.

"Jimmy is still registered as a Hull player so until his player registration is released we cannot move these discussions forward."

In addition to Town and QPR, West Ham, Norwich City and Wigan were linked with Bullard earlier in the summer.

Would be nice but our defence is the top priority

Never come here, it's all about the money, and i'm sure West Ham & QPR will offer more than us.

He doesn't have an agent according to himself? Very strange!

We certainly won't be able to afford him if he has no payoff from Hull.

What was the indiscretion? - must have been bad if Hull terminated his contract or are they only using it as an excuse because of his high wages?

With our resources tight we need to prioritise of defence.

Jimmy himself said if there were any way he could join us he would. Well this is the chance we will see what really matters money or this club

dubblue, blueherts - if the rule applies then you should never be able find out! What goes on tour stays on tour! Ha ha!

This may be the exception though if it gets dragged through the courts!

As I posted before, what chance of Leadbitter leaving, freeing up another wage ready for the emergence of Bullard ? Personally, I wouldn't like to see him go, but would have to be stupid after Jimmy's appearances last year, to say no to him joining as well. Chances, very little and none with the appearance of this agent banging the big bass drum.

I can't see Jimmy signing for anyone for a while as it would compromise his claim against Hull. Hull cannot get away with this, it's blatantly obvious that they were waiting for an excuse to offload such a financial liability.

whats the betting norwich sign him and he ends up being awesome for them and they stay up comfortably and end up richer and bigger and better because of the money and players the prem bring???
what a nightmare scenario.
the guy that keep mentioning adam le fondre needs a kick in the teeth

I don't agree with the idea we can't buy him now he is a free agent. It could make it easier, as we can use the money that would have been a sign-on fee to bargain with.

As people say its with JB, if he is really interested then a deal should be possible.

Defence, Defence, Defence!!! Its that simple.

Much as I would like Bullard here we have more pressing needs.

We won't be able to attract Jimmy. We URGENTLY need a CB or two, then look to replace Jimmy - PJ has FAILED to sign a play maker. Then there's the need for a RB, GK and Striker. Why has this not been sorted sooner? If I failed to deliver in my job, I would be sacked.

Anyone with a shred of football nouse who saw Jimmy Bullard play for Town last season will know how he stood out from the ordinary. His technical ability and reading of the game, the way he made himself available for the return ball across the width of the midfield and his ability in a dead ball situation, made him an obvious stand-out against any player we had last season or indeed have this season. He is also a crowd pleaser.

The side needs either JB or someone of equal ability to run the game from midfield.

I fully accept that we need 1 or indeed 2 central defenders and a right back.

Although I really like Bullard, we are really in need of defenders now. That is the first priority now! I don't have a feeling Town is lacking the attacking skills at the moment, it's more a serious lack of confidence in defence.

Alfromcol///100% agreement with your JB comments--his absence from this seasons teams shows just how devoid we are now of anyone resembling a proper JB replacement in midfield!
Why Lee Bowyer !!? Please please tell me his value to the team. If hes not match fit then he shouldnt be picked
If he is fit , than bluntly he is not up to it..as demonstrably evident from this last two appearances
I can see some merit in Keith Andrews-- he appears to be naturally vocal, has positional sense and showed that he has a good finish
I actually felt sorry for Grant leadbitter on Tuesday..I am not hs greatest fan but what was the point of him being sent to hug the touchline whilst the woeful Bowyer was allowed to roam aimlessly and slowly (and occasionaly "nastily") in the middle
Mark Kennedy earned rave reviews at Ashton gate and showed a few glimpses of ability in the last two matches(whihc should be expected given is experience)..but quite obviously is a not regarded as a 90 minute man.
Andy Drury , Luke Hyam are also apparently seen as bit part players at best so we have a rather rag bag colection of midfielders and after nearly 9 months here that is the responsibilty of PJ

Credit is due to PJ for the acquisition of Chopra (from what I have seen so far he is much more than a goal poacher) and for the exciting Cresswell ( he has the potential to be an absolutely excellent full back)

But the biggest contiuning worry is the sad and sorry central defence nightmare..it is no good to the ITFC supporter to be told we tried for Jonathan Woodgate for Anton Ferdinand fro Ryan Shotton et etc. No more of that please. Silence is preferred until the deal is doneand we should never have got into that situation!
It is particualry sad and disappointing and I believe almost inexcusable that just 10 days into this Championship season ITFC effectively have no fit , even competent central defenders. It is not that Smith and Delaney have suddenly lost their form In my view they were never up to it and certainly not when paired together Embarassing is the only fair word to describe their last two peformances. Where was the Back UP Plan PJ?
McCauley gone Brown gone Eastman gone.. and only an injury prone free tansfer ageing Icelandic arriving.. so PJ as great as it would be to have a footballing entertainer (a Bullard) in our shirt on Saturday please please concentrate on central defence before its too late.................

EssexTractor -you make some good points. Agree Chopra and Cresswell look like decent signings - possibly JET as well. BUT we have failed to address other key areas and bought injury prone has been's on frees. Overall the Summer business looks poor. PJ has to take the blame.
