Priskin: I Want to Leave Town
Priskin: I Want to Leave Town
Monday, 12th Sep 2011 13:19

Striker Tamás Priskin says he wants to go on loan to a team where he will play regularly and leave the Blues permanently either in January or at the end of the season. The Hungarian, a £1.7 million buy from Watford in the summer of 2009, has yet to feature for Town this season.

Speaking to the Hungarian media, the 24-year-old said: "I enjoy my role in the Hungarian national team, I recorded an assist against Sweden but my situation is not the same at Ipswich.

"I don't think I'll be in the squad for our next game and I'm sure I won't play. Simply, they don't rely on me. I don't get the chance from Paul Jewell, I'm in his bad books.

"Fortunately my contract will expire in [June] 2012, so I can sign to anywhere next summer. I'm sure this is my last season here, I don't want to stay.

"It would be great to go on loan to a team where I can play regularly, this would be the most important thing for me at the moment. Then I'll see in January, I'll go to another club if I get the possibility."

Priskin, who was close to joining Leeds on loan last month before the Elland Road club pulled out at the last minute, says he’d like to stay in England, but dismisses claims he was near to signing for ex-loan club Swansea earlier in the summer: "Germany or Holland are attractive for me but the country and the football I really like is here in England.

"I like and have got used to this atmosphere and it would be a dream to play in the Premier League again.

"I've heard that I had been linked with Swansea but I hadn't received a concrete offer and they bought two strikers."

The frontman has made 34 starts and 24 sub appearances for the Blues, scoring nine goals. While with Town the Slovakia-born striker has spent time on loan at QPR in addition to last season's spell at Swansea.

Priskin - Lazy with few goals - Funny that Ellington kept him out at Watford as well !!! That must please him again !!

Managers have every right to fall out with players if they go round acting like prima donnas, mouthing off and not putting the effort in. No-one here knows what goes on at the training ground.

I'm not saying that PJ is perfect; the midfield balance is not right at the moment and he is sometimes too slow at making subs (such as the Blackpool game), but we need to stick with him and trust his judgement. IMHO he has got it spot on with Priskin, a player who has flattered to deceive.

......... this Club DESPERATELY needs a really good Manager - they are out there to be had for sure - AND THE SOONER WE GET ONE THE BETTER.
We haven't had one for far too long, and whilst this scenario prevails the Club continues to spiral downwards.

Everyone, other than strange species, should be able to see this RIGHT NOW - and the present incumbent IS NEVER GOING TO MAKE IT.

You have to act know Mr Evans - unfortunately - but there is no other choice.
Unless you're planning to sell - after the Olympics of course !!!! !!!! !!!!

Good ridence!! useless, lazy, unenthusiastic, lacks passion, not interested, no desire, can't score, can't even get a shot on target, falls over too easily, scored one crackin goal,...... just not enough, bye Tamas.

Mmm...not sure on this one. At the start of the season i thought he'd be the perfect foil for Chopra. His movement is great, he's got good feet and in an aging team he'd bring some much needed balance and has the ability to do the unexpected.

On the flip side though, his decision making is terrible, he is at times quite lazy and infuriatingly wastes good opportunities and good moves by straying offside.

So, is this a good thing? I'd like to see him given the chance of a partnership over most other striking options even though he'll never reach the 20 goal mark for us he does offer more than Ellington and Murray and arguably as much as JET and Murphy to date.

But, there's shades of Keane in this as is there with regard to neither O'connor/Peters/Hyam and Drury getting a game or Edwards moving to right midfield.

If those who think so little of the club, team and manager why not save your own time and others by writing such drivel. PJ will not be sacked and for those who think he should should be ashamed.

How many games did we go under the dark lord in his first full season without a win?
This just shows the lack of quality which rk brought in. How many players did he bring in? Over 20.

we have a better quality squad and Give it time although people have no patience.

Back the club and team or don't bother.

WarkyWonderland - obviously you consider your words NOT to be drivel - the head will have to come out of the sand eventually.
Or are you one who will forever be satisfied as long as a ball is kicked at Portman Road ? - get some ambition man. I wish the Manager had some too.

Bye then Tamas! If you don't want to stay at ITFC you can go as we only want players here that want to be at the club.
A player who obviously has some talent but rarely shows it and he has been the same at other clubs too

It would be better for Priskin to go, although I consider he can still do a lot better then we have seen of him at Town. He simply haven't shown his quality. I am actually afraid he is one of those strikers who score a lot of goals at his next club, while underachieving at his current club.

Can't say I blame him. Poor guy looked short of match sharpness and confidence, but under it all is one of our classiest players, cultured ball control. Not given the right opportunities, constantly in/out under Keen and ignored by Jewel.

That said, he's paid enough to strap-up.

What a waste of his time and ours and money. A good player completely mis-managed.

H32. I am as ambitious as anyone and want the club to be successful. Success Isn't instant and there have only been 6 games this season. 120 points to play for.

It's no coincidence that those teams who are currently at the top have gone backwards to go forwards.

You have said that you are no longer prepared to throw money at it. Well don't but to have so much opinion on something you don't watch is a bit much.

PJ will not be sacked and its time that everyone pulled in the same direction.

Agree with many that Tamas is a lazy type of player but his talent is there for all to see. He has not been given a run in the side and as a striker you need to play to gain confidence. Those who moan about goals ratio should question thwe system not the palyers ability. Chopra is already finding this out for himself.Lone striker = very few goals/wins. I wish him all the best, a crowd pleaser on his day and in a good team he will be a fantastic player. Sorry but for me far better than Scotland or Ellington. We will all remember thee Arsenal performance. Good Luck.

You can't blame him for wanting to go - he's been left out in the cold by PJ, thanks for the goal against Arsenal :)

Any player who wants to leave the club can go straight away as far as I am concerned.

Tamas can play and maybe he will perform better elsewhere. If we get a fee for him I would be surprised given the size of his contract and the window not opening till January. He will probably go out on loan with the club paying part of his salary.

I hope Leadbitter and Martin go and ply their trade somewhere else ASAP.

Jewell needs to get back to basics before talking about formulas, as far as I am concerned. At the moment he needs to get eleven players on the pitch giving 100% effort, that would be a step in the right direction.

Jewell's having a laugh if he thinks that he's putting out a team that's giving 100% effort at the moment.

What a shocking waste of money on Priskin - £1.7m + 2 year's wages & continuing to receive I guess in the region of £10K per week - makes me (& probably ME) sick.

Priskin was clearly not in PJ's plans for this season yet ITFC is still lumbered with a player who was never or rarely going to feature in the team.

In the meantime PJ is talking up Scotland saying he has shown the right attitude by training hard in pre-season and not moaning and at the same time PJ states that ITFC accepted an offer of £250,000 from Blackpool for Scotland.

Unfortunately there appear to be a number of players in the squad who
a) clearly don't want to be at the club,
b) don't feel wanted at the club,
c) aren't good enough for a championship club,
d) are loan players at the club on a short term basis,
e) are on contracts which expire at the end of the season,

& PJ is still looking for the right formula!

Unfortunately worrying times.

Looking on the bright side, when we beat Coventry 3-0 we will all be happy again!

Another player who arrived here with a reasonable scoring record destroyed by 2 managers who obviously have favourites from previous clubs and/or associations. Rather see PJ go than Priskin.

There does appear to be an emerging trend within the club. Managers bombing players out. We have been unfortunate that we have chosen managers who are unable to motivate and fall out with players. Am I the only fan who thinks that Shane O ' Connor is a decent player who again has been frozen out for some unknown reason. We are devoid of confidence I wonder why...........

WarkyWonderland - the reason I have an opinion is because I am entitled to one, just like you remember, and everyone else.
What it also means is although ITFC will always be my Club, I do not have to be foolhardy and keep throwing my money at a blatantly obvious black hole.
Progress is NOT forthcoming - and no sign of it - and I expect progress.

Do you really think that next season, with the oldies we keep recruiting, and loanees returning, that prospects will be better ?? - of course not, because a re-buiding process starts all over 'yet' again.
Equally, do you really think that recent performances will suddenly improve 100% ?? - therefore no point in keep saying: early days, x amount of games to go, x amount of points still up for grabs - it just won't happen with what we've currently got.
On paper we have a decent squad - but it's all about getting the best from it - again it's not happening.
Don't mention 'time needed to gel' anymore please - Collins came in, not even trained with the squad, and was MOTM - proves the point the word is bo##ocks.
Players slotting in (in their rightful position) do the business from the off - just ask them. Square pegs in round holes - will NEVER work - again we keep doing it week after week.

Th Club lacks:- Structure (to move forward), Pedigree (alas all gone) and Ambition (there for all to see)- and will, to some degree, get away with it because of people like you who will keep coughing up regardless.

These are sad, and desperate times for a Club with a great name - and condoning the current movement will NOT help - short, medium, or long term.

the goal posts are same width apart whoever you play for Tamas, not wide enough apart for you . Move along .

Is he still here?

Close the door on your way out Tamas - sorry but you were never good enough - in common with a number of other signings at this club over recent seasons.
