Preston's Proctor Linked With Town and Canaries
Preston's Proctor Linked With Town and Canaries
Sunday, 23rd Oct 2011 09:54

Town are again linked with Preston striker Jamie Proctor by one of this morning’s tabloids. The 19-year-old, who was first mentioned in connection with the Blues in September, is also reported to have been watched by Norwich City.

The 6ft 2in tall frontman has become a regular starter for his hometown club this season, scoring two goals in 14 appearances, having broken into the side as a sub in the second half of the last campaign when he came off the bench six times.

Town are said to have already registered their interest in the former Stockport loanee, who is out of contract at Deepdale next summer, while the Canaries reportedly may make a move in January.

He's a regular starting striker, and has only scored 2 in 12?
Give this one a miss

We should be registering an interest in Jordan Rhodes. 5 in 5 for Scotland and almost a goal every other game for Huddersfield. Might be a bit pricey now though but now the management that kicked him has gone, would he be interested?

I dislike blowing my own trumpet but this is what I thought back on 01st May after watching the Preston game.........'Is Connor W that much better than Jamie Procter (the Preston striker) who came on as sub yesterday after about 25 mins ?? I thought he led their line well, looked good down both flanks and gave our central pair a bit of a run around. ' Our defence then was pretty good and he had a good game against them. This is where I say "Worth a punt" or whatever the common phrases were back in the summer for players that we had no chance of signing. Mr Evans may have a 'little bit of cash' but it seems it's being spent wisely.

I'm surprised people are writing him off based solely on his scoring record this season. He's only 19 and 6ft 2in tall! Height is one thing we lack up front right now.

Along with pace down the wings and in midfield. If we had that Chopra and co would be banging 'em in

Very poor goal scoring record - in a league lower than the Championship. But PJ knows more about these things than us - although there are still a number of question marks over some of his other signings i.e. JET!

Erm his first season as a starter, and he's started 14 games, what do people expect a 1 in 2 record?

He sounds alright, but Jordan Rhodes has scored 13 goals in his last 5 games in all comps....

Bite the bullet, break the bank, bring him back

The dark lord was the instigater for the parting of Jordon Rhodes, he could not handle Wickham and Rhodes together, too much work for him I suppose ????

OK so JR is banging them in for Huddersfield, but have you not seen that Kevin Lisbie is doing the same thing to? And we know how well he scores at this level....

Really don't believe that Rhodes would be that expensive. There must have been a sell-on clause (mustn't there) which means the price for ITFC comes down by that much compared to any other club, so in theory can bid slightly more ...

Most of Rhodes goals last season came against the bottom half of the league, and was left on the bench in the playoff's. Great player, no doubts there but doesn't always cut it against the better players. Was always a shame to lose him. As for Proctor, we lost Connor, may as well give another youngster a punt and Jewell seems to know his game rather better than some though, he brings the best out of people. E.g Scotland, so lets give it a shot.

He did look good for Preston when they visited us a couple of season's ago, certainly looked the part.

Reminds me loads of Wickham. Not the most prominent goalscorer but is potentially world class on his day. Saw him against us for Preston and he was really impressive. No wonder Norwich City want him too.
Well worth it, but feel we could get a lot of competition for his signature. 19 years old and only going to get wiser, fitter, stronger and better in the next 3 years.
