Submit Questions for Jewell and Clegg
Wednesday, 2nd Nov 2011 09:08

Those unable to attend tonight’s Supporters Club AGM, where manager Paul Jewell and chief executive Simon Clegg will be guests, can supply questions for the Blues duo via TWTD. Jewell and Clegg will talk about the season so far and then take questions from fans at the meeting which is being held in Portman Road’s Legends Bar (7.30pm).

The evening will also include the business of the Supporters Club AGM - including speeches and election of officers — although this is likely to take only around 20 minutes.

The event is free but open only to Supporters Club members (those with current season tickets, Silver Club cards and Junior Blues) and those attending are asked to bring proof of their membership. For more information, contact Tammy Denny at tammydenny@hotmail.com or by phone on 07968 876504.

If you post your question in the Comments section below, they will be passed on to the Supporters Club and (depending on the numbers supplied), they will be asked on the night.

My question is similar to those offered by Keaneish and ITFC4daprem

Paul and Simon, you have successfully brought some good experienced players into the club. Most successful teams however have an appropriate blend of experience and youth with incisive pace normally provided by the younger members of the team. What is your strategy with respect to achieving this balance and what does your crystal ball say about the furures of our youngsters e.g. O'Connor, Hyam, Whight, Ainsley, Carson, Martin, JET and Cropper?

Thanks Phil for the opportunity.

Another Question for Jewell:

Since the FA ruled that there had to be a reduction in the number of subs allowed on the bench (for whatever rudiculous reason that may be) have you contemplated adopting the Neil Warnock approach and not having a goalkeeper to strengthen our tactical options?

If ITFC want big crowds, they need multiple cheap ticket offers which run over several years which target the youth, to build up a new fan base. Norwich's crowds were poor like our own, until they ran such schemes, Kids for a quid and so on. Unfortunately ITFC is run by the most inflexible goons in its history. Any other private sector company would study their competitors' success (Norwich ticket strategy) and implement a similar model, not ITFC.

A simple question : what is our youth policy , because it seems that at present it is to develop good young players then sell them to finance old prem rejects

Is there any prospect of Town coming to the Netherlands on another pre-season tour? Our 0-3 win at Bristol City kick-started our season this time and even the teams from the Dutch second division are technically and physically very competent opponents. It is also an excellent scouting zone, as our proud history of hiring Dutch players will tell you!

Jamie Peters - played well int he first leg against Arsenal in the Carling Cup victory at right back when Paul Jewell was an observer. Next game, again at right back, he was man of the match in our defeat to Milwall - Paul Jewell's first game in charge.
Why has he never been given a game since and why have we instead moved our best right winger to right back?

Do you honestlythink the group of players we have are good enough for oromotion. When do you think we are going to be if not . And when we do will the squad be anywhere near good enough to stay in the top flight for a long duration of time and eventually be competative i.e eventually compete for a european spot.Do you both aswell have a plan. Thats a plan A,B and c. Why arent the clubs own promising young players not getting start outs. With the likes of Bowyer,Andrews and co of which Bowyer is a champions league semi finalist not used fully and the younger players playing along side them to gain the experiance.Whats the plan if Stockdale gets called back to Fulham

Why didn't they employ a Manager with an eye to the futrue, and not the past?

Question For Clegg:

Do you feel the strategy of investing heavily in Ageing Players/Loan signings is working?
The reason for the question is despite the huge investment since ME has arrived we seem to have moved backwards.

Should we not be looking at Norwich, Southampton, Swansea and adopting similar a similar strategy?

Keaneish - It always make me chuckle to see the words Priskin and dynamic in the same post. Priskin has the turning circle of a cheftain tank and the pace of Kuqi - pity it doesn't go with Kuqi's effort!

Given media reports of Chopra being approached/threatened at the training ground, are security arrangements being reviewed/changed?

1. Will there be a decent funding available to Jewell in January so he can improve our squad even further?(Personally I would like to see Jordan Rhodes brought back to the club)

2. Do players like Shane O'Connor and Luke Hyam fit into your future plans for the club?( I think they are both very talented young players and could add too the squad now)

3. Is there any chance of Caolan Lavery signing a pro deal with us?

4. Whats likely to happen to Tommy Smith?

what has happened between the club and priskin
he was our 2nd top scorer in pre season and he has not even been in the squad for a game . he is an international player one of the only players we have with a touch of flair and class and to not even make a squad says something has happened that the club are not telling us
and dont say the squad is picked on who shows well at training as this is NOT the case as proved with scotland and chopra

PJ What is your view on the younger players in the club who haven't broken into the first team? Will players like Luke Hyam, Josh Carson, Joe Whight and even Byron Lawrence get a chance in the first team or is your main focus replacing them with older, more experienced players?

Why do we have a soft under belly. Surely this should have been rectified in pre season. We've been like it for a number of seasons now. What direction are the club going in as we do seem drifting and surely Mr Evans will be getting twitchy now considering the amount of money his put into the club in which I guess like many ipswich fans we are grateful of . Have we actually moved forward as a club when you consider that under Mr Royle we achieved a 3rd place and missed out in the play offs twice with no money
