Kennedy Starts for Blues at Burnley
Kennedy Starts for Blues at Burnley
Tuesday, 29th Nov 2011 19:14

Veteran midfielder Mark Kennedy is a surprise recall to the Blues side for tonight's game at Burnley. The 35-year-old Irishman comes into a much-changed midfield with Jimmy Bullard and Lee Bowyer as expected returning to the XI.

Arran Lee-Barrett makes his first league start of the season in goal, with Richard Wright sidelined by a minor shoulder problem, the same injury which keeps David Stockdale out of the side. US U20 international Cody Cropper, who is yet to make a senior appearance, is on the bench.

Ibrahima Sonko is included amongst the subs after his absence due to a hamstring problem.

Daryl Murphy's inclusion allows manager Paul Jewell to line his side up either in a 4-4-2 formation as against Reading on Saturday or in the 4-5-1 he utilised earlier in the campaign.

Town: Lee-Barrett, Edwards, Ingimarsson, Collins, Cresswell, Bullard, Andrews, Kennedy, Bowyer, Chopra, Murphy. Subs: Cropper, Sonko, Carson, Emmanuel-Thomas, Scotland.

Burnley: Grant, Trippier, Duff, Edgar, Mee, Bartley, McCann, Treacy, Stanislas, Rodriguez, Vokes. Subs: Stewart, Easton, MacDonald, Hines, Marney.

Carson and JET now on for Bowyer and Kennedy. Raises the questions as to why they weren't played from the start!? I sincerely hope the boys can pull a miracle out of the bag tonight but as some of the other posters on here have pointed out yet another baffling starting XI put out by Jewell.

Any other club and the supporters would be demonstrating outside the ground and smashing the players cars up. Come on town fans, grow some balls and stop getting the p*ss taken out of you. Make a stand on Saturday, not just against Jewell but the whole regime. EVANS OUT

Not listening to the game, still disillusioned from Sat. Glad Martin is out but puzzled by Carsons on the bench, perhaps he is not unto 2 games so close together. Sat was a sickened but I would stick with Jewell. Chopping and changing managers is not a good recipe for success and PJ has a job on his hands. It will take time to move players on. COYB

ChestnutSe - take time to move players on, what are you talking about, these are nearly ALL Jewells players. Not every successful manager gets rid of the entire squad and starts again you know. the best managers make the best of what they have got. Jewell is clueless and needs to go or we will be playing league 1 football next year.

Now 3-0. Jewels tactics in the first half were a joke. I felt sorry for Edwards who was totally exposed for the whole of the 1st half.Could have been 5-0. Why can't PJ see what everyone else see's ? PJ and the team should pay for the town fans who have made the journey tonight.Farce!

The majority of the players clearly have no respect for the football club and or manager.

Time to go PJ - do the decent thing and resign.

Ok I've supported jewell but now have had enough since Evans has bought the club we've had 5 pointless seasons wen was the last time town paid compensation to a club for a manager? Burley Colchester? Now I'd rather c lee Clarke in charge or untried Matt holland as at least he'd have passion for the club!

Feeling for those fans who have made the trip. How many up there? Slipping another place and again another thumping.

Will he be at PR come Saturday?
