Ingimarsson Breaks Nose
Ingimarsson Breaks Nose
Thursday, 8th Dec 2011 13:27

Icelandic defender Ívar Ingimarsson has been ruled out of Saturday’s live Sky game at Barnsley after breaking his nose in training (KO 5.20pm). Town boss Paul Jewell is still waiting on skipper Grant Leadbitter, who has returned to training after a groin injury.

Jewell said: “Ívar Ingimarsson broke his nose in training on Monday, Cody Cropper came out and caught him a cropper and he looks like he’s been 12 rounds with Mike Tyson. He had it reset on yesterday and he was in this morning with two black eyes.

“Grant’s trained this morning, whether he’ll be fit enough for the weekend, I don’t know. We’ve still got Richard Wright out with his shoulder injury and Damien Delaney is making good progress with his foot injury.”

David Stockdale and Ibrahima Sonko came through last week’s game against Watford without a problem.

Jewell revealed that midfielder Jamie Griffiths, who was on loan at Plymouth earlier in the season, is currently training with Colchester United with his Town contract up at the end of the month.

Just imagine if the Daily Mail was reporting this....

It would of been that a coked up Bullard would of come to training in his Ferrari and had a stand-up row with all the players and smacked Ingar.

Probably.

Why can he not play with a protective mask like others do? Or can we not afford one?

Fingers crossed for leadboots. That he doesn't make it as he's not been missed.

I read in the Daily Gossip that his nose was actually broken by Jamie Bullard which comes as a bit of a blow. In truth though I believe Ivar collided with the goalie and as Paul jewell intimated, "caught him a cropper." Good to see our manager still has a sense of humour!

Looks like Griff will not be getting a deal then.Back to the main story, Ingi would be a good cover defender on the bench as Sonko could easily crock himself again. As for Leadboots we are no worse a team without him.For goodness sake play Martin and Carson wide and stick Murphy up top with Scotland as Chopra doesn't seem to be up for it.

"Come you Tykes, one last push and PJ will be out the door."

It's a sad day when someone who purportedly supports Ipswich Town would rather see the opposition win (and land us in even more relegation trouble) just to get the manager moved on.

Walberswick, I never thought I'd say this about a fellow Blue, but yours is the kind of support we could really do without.

A terrible signing. Injury prone (although latest one not his fault) and actually, just a very poor player.

Got to give credit for the journalism at TWTD though, they even got the time of the knockout.

Are we gonna sign Mike Tyson? Might put a bit of punch in our (so-called) defence. Let's face it which ref would have the balls to give a foul against him?
