Helsingborgs IF have admitted that the anthrax hoax at their hotel was perpetrated by their own players. The team arrived back in Sweden yesterday and owned up to their guilt.

The club's press officer Gunnar Brink said: "I can confirm that two of our players were responsible and the club has apologised. It was a prank which got out of control. It was only aimed at people inside the club and it was supposed to have been sorted out before any authorities got involved. The players who were involved are indeed sorry and very regretful - but have not been disciplined to my knowledge. The last thing they expected was for something like this to happen. Most of the players were no aware of the presence of the police until they woke up."
