Bullard a Doubt for Return to Hull
Bullard a Doubt for Return to Hull

Town boss Paul Jewell is waiting on flu victim Jimmy Bullard ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup tie at his former club Hull City. The Blues are short on central midfielders for the trip to the KC Stadium with Lee Bowyer and Keith Andrews injured and Andy Drury cup-tied.

Jewell said: “We’ve got a few injury problems. Jimmy’s still ill, he’s come in today but he’s had the flu and it’s knocked him for six.

“He was pretty bad when I spoke to him on Monday morning, I spoke to him again yesterday and he’s still very weak. Hopefully he’ll get better, so I’m not going to rule him out yet.”

If well, Bullard will probably come into the middle of midfield with Bowyer picking up a groin injury against Nottingham Forest on Monday and Drury having played for Crawley in the FA Cup this season: “Lee Bowyer’s injured for two to three weeks and Andy Drury’s cup-tied.

“Jason Scotland’s got a tight hamstring, so we have got a few injuries but we’ve still got enough players capable of going there and putting on a good performance.”

Keith Andrews’s loan spell is up after the weekend but the Irishman, who the Blues are keen to sign on a permanent basis, will be unavailable due to his torn hamstring: “He’s got his hamstring and that will rule him,” Jewell said.

The Blues boss confirmed that youngster Luke Hyam could come into his thoughts for the first time since the Carling Cup tie against Northampton in August.

Are we really that concerned win or lose if he plays hyam and he has a good game he might realise how short sighted he's been in not including him. Seriously I dont want to lose another game but would rather not have the extra load of games on an already struggling sqad. I would rather have a fitter squad for wednesday against Birmingham.

What a SAD lot you all are !! Get a real life and support your team through thick and thin.

The only way we'll progress is when the guys at the top see what a f***ed up mess we are and re-vamp ITFC as a whole.

Can somebody wake me up when someone actually posts a comment that shows they actually know what they are talking about instead of all this ignorant crap that gets posted on here.

I can't see Bullard wanting to rush back from illness just to get a load of abuse from the Hull fans.

Fatboy Just the reason Bullard would what to play against Hull. To get one over on them and show them how good he really is.

Players try even harder when they get abuse from home supporters. Human nature

'Player ot the Year' last season - voted as such by knowledgeable ITFC Supporters ??????????? - just a reminder to those voting people that achieved it for him.
Clear conscious here .......

CheshireBlue - maybe you should get a LIFE - not necessarily a real life.

Perhaps you and alfromcol should live together - or maybe you do ?
