Town Lodge Three Bids
Town Lodge Three Bids
Saturday, 14th Jan 2012 19:56

Town boss Paul Jewell has revealed that he has lodged bids for three players. The Blues manager is looking to strengthen throughout his squad during the January transfer window.

Jewell told the club site: "We have been in contact with two clubs today and offers have been made for three players.

"It's early stages and we will see how things develop. It's a case of waiting for a response but obviously we are looking to strengthen the squad.

"We have got a few injuries but hopefully we will have some additions to the squad before the Leeds game next weekend. As I said, though, we will have to wait and see."

Meanwhile, midfielder Andy Drury says he and the rest of the squad are frustrated after letting their two goal lead slip against Blackpool: "The boys are a bit gutted after playing so well, but then letting a lead slip like that.

"I thought we did well enough to take all three points today and we're all a bit frustrated, more than anything, in the dressing room to have only drawn the game.

"We maybe could have won it at the end with Lee's chance but we've taken a point and we have to focus on the next game now and prepare for that."

Elsewhere, striker Ronan Murray has returned to the Blues at the end of his loan at Swindon. The 20-year-old has tweeted that the clubs are in discussions regarding his permanent move to the County Ground: "Now going back to Ipswich because my loan is up today. The clubs are talking at the minute so I'm stuck in the middle!"

Murray came off the bench in today's 2-1 win at Rotherham, his sixth sub appearance in addition to four starts and having scored two goals.

Former Blue Jimmy Juan scored on his debut for Chesterfield as the Spireites drew 1-1 at Leyton Orient.

Lost 2-1 to Birmingham and let a 2-0 lead slip to Blackpool, yet we have played well and the effort has been there

If these 3 are the right type of player and not a panic buy we will be alright

Now that would be a great signing if it's true Gio now that is a good loan signing. Mind you if we don't get some defenders in can he score 4 goals a game?

please please let two of these bids be for a right-back and a centre-back - we will continue to lose games with edwards at right-back!!!!
we also possibly need another striker to give Scotland some support up-front!!!

I saw Gio de Santos going up the A12 earlier today, being chauffeur driven in a Fiat 500 - probably going to CentreParks.

Yeah it could be the 2 lads from swindon, if he has spoken to 2 clubs and bid for 3 players. 2 of them must come from the same club.

Also, what about David Cotterill, just released by swansea.

OMG i nearly fainted not one but three bids. Wow Cleggy has been busy. Like most fans i hope they are young hungry players rather than old prem has-beens looking for a last big payday. Even better if two of them are a rb/cb and the other a striker!
Long way to go though, negotiations and possibility of being gazumped by Leicester/West Ham or Burnley! No more loans though PJ!

Too little too late. All of this should have been sorted last Summer. Unfortunately PJ failed to address the defence, still has failed to bring in a permanent keeper and as a result we are paying the price. Little wonder there were less than 16,000 ITFC fans at yesterday's game. We are going the same was as Derby - let's hope these are not loan deals or 30 year olds. PJ OUT
