Scotland a Doubt for Leeds
Scotland a Doubt for Leeds
Monday, 16th Jan 2012 15:34

Town boss Paul Jewell says the Blues will have a greater idea of the extent of striker Jason Scotland’s hamstring injury tomorrow with the Trinidadian likely to be a doubt for next weekend's game at Leeds. Scotland limped off in the second half of Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Blackpool with the injury which is a different problem to the one which saw him miss games earlier in the month.

Jewell told the club site that this is the other hamstring: "It's not a recurrence of that injury, it's the other leg.

“With hamstrings, you need a good 48 hours before you can really assess the extent of the injury. We will have a look at Jason tomorrow and take it from there.

"You have to be careful with hamstring problems though, so obviously he has to be a concern for us ahead of the Leeds game at the weekend."

Jas0999 why did Roy sign this over the hill injury prone premier league failure on such high wages ? And to think this is one of his most successful signings

that's a blow! would like to see priskin have a run of games, because he offers something new to the way we play. otherwise i guess it'll have to be chopra! could always give JET a run up top, been quality over recent games!!

Surco72 Scotland has been one if not the best player for us this season. He came back lost weight and has really put the effort in. He is only striker we have who can retain possesion. Last season I was one who had it in for him calling him all sorts of names, But he has proved me wrong this season if he had good players and service around him would get 20 goals a season.

Why you lot think Thomas is so wonderful he was ok for an hour never saw him after that we need players to give 110% for 90 mins not just 60.
Hope Scotland otherwise we will struggle could always play Ellington and Priskin that would be good lol

That's a shame ... he was my man of the match on saturday (again)! can only hope Jewell is not contemplating starting with priskin ... thought he might come back eager and hungry to play ... but still looked like he can't be bothered, and contributed very little (unless you count getting caught offside)!!

poggie you dont mind him giving the ball away for Blackpools 1st goal he would be ok if we were 2nd in the league not 5 th from bottom

Cant believe how some of you guys have it in for Priskin,he is after all a current Hungarian international and has hardly been given any starts by Jewell who perhaps reads this website.Did no one think he should have had a pen on Saturday, how can you form such biased judgements on the odd half hours play. You cant expect players to come into a struggling side and perform immediately;look at the chances that have been given to Chopra and Ellington.JET took time to gel and now we are seeing his talent coming through.

Surco72 - and still the best striker at the club! I could argue with you about it, but sadly you won;t accept anyone else's opinion - so I simply won't bother. Could I suggest that if you don't like my posts, you simply don't read them? If your happy with two wins in fifteen then great. I'm not. Also, If you haven't realised that Scotland is better than JET, Chopra and Ellington then oh dear. Most ITFC fans would accept that. Scotland has been our best performer for weeks. We will seriously miss him.

On another note - no word on Carson? PJ said he was 'tired' on Suffolk and hence the sub ... but then changed his mind to 'hamstring' presumably as he realised by making that change it cost us two points. Surprising that Josh hasn't been mentioned as well ....

Calm down ladies... I do think that Scotland has been our best bet this year - he's leaner and stepped up to the plate when challenged to do so. Chopra has been hit & miss, depending if his bets have come in or not... JET - looked like a person who had never actually played football before at Birmingham. Priskin - £1.7m - £850k of which was obtained by selling Rhodes... oh dear. Ellington - he's not really had the chance I don't think. Do we play a system which benefits whichever striker is playing? Do we create 100's of chances? Are we playing with any confidence? Scotland hasn't been prolific, but is the best option in my view.

Priskin on for his third appearance............. Let's hope not.
He offered nothing on Saturday total waste. The only thing he will be rembered for in a town shirt is his goal against Arsenal.
Chops and Jet for me up front against Leeds.
Expecting more from Chops tbh.

Give Murray a go look what a difference it has made to Drury playing games

Priskin again then, what a joke, why can't we just get rid of him, oh sorry, forgot that nobody wants the useless waste of space, lazy git and revered by some for one goal scored last season, he has had plenty of chances and should have been shipped out long ago, he would have been by any club that was properly run.

Jas0999..
i am not happy about it but i am not going to constantly try and slag the manager and the club off at every chance i get .
Chopra is having a personal breakdown this season and has scored nearly double Scotland

jas0999 I don't agree with a lot of your comments but totally agree with those re Scotland. I was one of those who last year thought he should be shown the door. Didn't seem interested, off the pace etc etc. But this season has been a revelation.

Just goes to show that any player given a chance and applying themselves can make a mark. I would like to see Priskin do the same and prove a lot of people wrong.

any player who says they want to leave (PRISKIN) should not even be considered when picking the squad. he must not be picked, chopra to start, murray on the bench.

I can't see how you can say he offered nothing on Saturday. He came on at a time when Blackpool changed their formation and began to get a hold of the game so he had less chances than players had earlier in the game. He had a forceful run into the box which could have resulted in a penalty. How can you make such a comment when he only had 21 minutes on the field?

You may have noticed that he jumped with a defender which let Martin in in the last minute where he (Martin) should/could have scored the winner.

He didn't do anything negative like our new keeper from Reading, whose performance possibly cost us the game. But no negative comments from you on him!
