Priskin Set to Sign Russian Deal
Priskin Set to Sign Russian Deal
Wednesday, 18th Jan 2012 14:54

Departing Town striker Tamas Priskin will sign a three-and-a-half-year contract with Russian second division leaders Alania Vladikavkaz today or tomorrow, according to reports in Russia. News of Alania’s interest in the Hungarian international first broke last week.

Priskin, 25, left Portman Road yesterday after his Blues contract was terminated by mutual consent.

The frontman joined Town from Watford for £1.7 million in the summer of 2009 and scored nine goals in 35 starts and 25 sub appearances, his last game from the bench Saturday's 2-2 draw with Blackpool.

Priskin's most memorable moment with the Blues was scoring the winning goal in the 1-0 Carling Cup semi-final first leg victory over Arsenal at Portman Road a year ago. While with Town, he spent loan spells with QPR, Swansea and Derby.

Who knows what the payout was to mutually end his contract.

More to this than has been said.

Likely that he had to give up some of the pay he would have got until June on the basis that he could be off to Russia ASAP. Without Priskin giving up some of his wages the club could have simply hung on to him and he wouldn't be able to sign for the Russian club until the Summer.

Who knows what went on.

The only fact we do know is that he has gone.

Completely appreciate why we got rid of him, but why not on a free with a % sell on clause? That way he'd still be off our books but we'd have the potential to get something back if he was successful elsewhere, which if the move works out for him there's a fair chance he might be.

None the less bye bye Tamas, won't be missed here I'm afraid.

He's not very good. The Russian second division is not very good.

Good match.

I reckon they weren't prepared to pay a fee so Jewell, knowing Tamas was never going to be a regular player here, thought it was only fair to agree to cancel his contract.

I doubt there was much of a pay-off, with him just about to sign a fairly decent contract at another club.

Команда И О
They are doing well:

1 Алания 38 73
2 Мордовия 38 73
3 Шинник 38 69
4 Нижний Новгород 38 68
But Ossetia is a dangerous place

Good Luck Tamas - such a shame that you played here under two inept Managers - neither had a clue about playing to your strengths, and never would have.

Equally so, ignore the comments from 'supporters' who have criticised you from day one - they equally are incapable of identifying a good player.

Best wishes for the rest of your career - and 'Thanks' anyway for trying to achieve the impossible at this Club. The ability is still with you.

What about the managers at QPR, Swansea and Derby when he was loan with them h32? Were they 'inept' as well? Tamas certainly was.

h32 - you're having a go at the supporters for criticizing priskin but you're the one having a go at PJ ?? sure you're the criticizer here... Priskin was good for 1, maybe 2 games... and what are Priskin's strengths? height? being lazy? not scoring? i dont understand your logic behind the comment.

He should have joined Шинник (Shinnik, or Tyremaker) in Yaroslavl as he seemed to play as if he had a spare one or two.

Still thanks for the memory of Arsenal at home and vsevo dobrovo in the slightly volatile region of North Ossetia.

A terrible RK signing. Who cares what he does now. Personally, I wouldn't have paid his contract up - at least make him play for the reserves. Having said that a miles better striker than Ellington and that's saying something!!!!

Face the facts, he went out on loan 3 times and he came back better than a boomerang, nobody made any effort to retain his services, did they? i wonder why, oh i know he wasnt any good, a very poor signing. cant believe those on here who rated him... he played under 5 different managers while an ipswich town player, they cant all be wrong, the facts speak for themselves.....COYB
