Fulham Linked With JET
Fulham Linked With JET
Wednesday, 18th Apr 2012 23:18

Fulham are amongst a number of Premier League clubs to have been alerted to the talents of Blues midfielder Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, according to a tabloid report.

The 21-year-old has begun to show his potential in the second half of the season and scored his seventh goal of the campaign in the 1-1 draw with Birmingham on Tuesday.

According to the report, Town are said to be looking for a fee of double the initial £1.5 million they are said to have paid the Gunners last summer, although manager Paul Jewell recently quoted a lower figure of £600,000.

However, even if there is any truth in the report, with Emmanuel-Thomas an increasingly key player in Jewell’s team, the Blues are likely to do everything they can to hold on to the Londoner with Marcus Evans's cash ensuring that they can rebuff offers in a manner they wouldn't have been able to a few years ago.

Meanwhile, striker Michael Chopra has been banned from driving for six months after reaching 12 points on his licence having admitted driving through a red light in September last year.

Chopra, who attended court with chief executive Simon Clegg, was also £400, ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a further £15 to victims of crime. The 28-year-old was banned from driving for 56 days for speeding earlier in the season.

#SillySeasonHasStarted

Cash strapped???

He won't be going anywhere, he's going to be a key member of the squad next season, and will play a big part in our promotion.

I guess Fulham have only seen the highlights real and haven't seen the lack of work rate this season. Next season if we don't get promoted I think we will find it very difficult to keep hold of JET because when the work rate/concentration comes he will be unplayable at times! I for one can't wait to see it!

we should just tell them he's not for sale , he is showing the potential we hoped for , it's great to have someone with the ability to take people on and his goal return will be much greater next year . keep him .............there's plenty of others that could go , but he is going to get better and better and be a crowd pleaser .
if it comes down to keeping him or murphy , it's no contest got to be JET everytime

A class player who always has the ability to lift the crowd with his moves. Best just to treat this as tabloid rubbish and move on.

If Fulham tabled a £3 million offer, we would accept it, and he would go.

If they want him and he wants to go, game over.

In this situation, Champ clubs have no bargaining power and the Prem clubs will pick off any decent players they want for what appear to us to be low fees.

If he went to Fulham he would disappear like Wickham at Sunderland. I consider JET a luxury player who on his day can do things that change a game and lift the crowd. Generally he goes missing for far too long and has zero effect. I honestly hope he comes good because he could be a class act at this level, on the other hand if Fulham or anyone elde want to give us £3 million for him I say take it.

Probably bullsh*t, I go to work in the same building as Sportsbeat (Britain's largest independent sports agency) so I will have a chat with them and see what they know.

When Jet has had the ball at his feet and has been running at players or launching his fizzing free kicks & shots at goal, everyone in the ground is full of anticipation and excitement.... When did we last have a player that make us feel like that?

Yes he's in and out of games too much at times and his body language can annoy, but he's still learning his trade and his fitness is obviously an area for development, but he has raw talent that you don't see that often at Championship level and if we can keep him for another season, I feel he could be a major factor in a decent promotion push next year!

Hands off, he's not for sale!

This had better be lazy journalism. Would only let him go for silly money - 10m plus. No-one will offer that so I guess he stays.
