Town have announced that entry to the friendly against West Ham at Portman Road on Saturday 4th August will be free to all Junior Blues and also to non-members under the age of 16 if accompanied by an adult (KO 3pm).

Under-16 non-members not accompanied by an adult can buy seats for £1 if a season ticket holder or otherwise for £3.

Concession prices for the over-60s and under-20s are £9 for season ticket holders and £10 for non-season ticket holders. Adult tickets are £14 for season ticket holders and £15 for non-season ticket holders.

Season ticket holders must purchase their seats prior to matchday in order to qualify for the discounted prices.

More information on the Junior Blues, which is open for fans aged five to 15, can be found here.

Town's pre-season programme can be found here.

Let's see all you Clegg haters now? ....

this seems to be a good move to reward the season ticket holders which is a nice touch, even if it is £1.

I am however a supporter of the season ticket promotions to buy extra people tickets which a lot of the idiots on here don't seem to be!

funny how all the haters aren't at the games on saturdays because they seem to talking on here the whole time!

I still think the maximum price for a friendly should be £10.

£14/£15 is a lot for a freindly, if i remember correctly this is this same price as the Wolves match last pre season. After Clegg came out and said something along the lines of "I think we got our pricing strategy wrong for this one", yet the pricing is very similar this year. £5-£10 i think would be reasonable, kids to get in free.

If a season ticket averages out at £20 a game how is £14 for a meaningless friendly supposed to be good value?

I'll stick to the 5-1 memory thanks, this will be rubbish for £14

£14/£15 is just too much for a pre-season friendly in my opinion. At least the child offer is something, but I think it is best to introduce children to competitive matches as football is all about the tension and excitement. A pre-season friendly with a low attendance could put them off!

I am afraid I disagree with the earlier poster who thinks we should all bow down to Clegg. Personally I think he has done a very poor job for Town and has cost us big time in the transfer market.

In any event, this thread is about the friendly match against West Ham - a team who were in our league last season. £14.00 for a season ticket holder is IMO a complete rip off and I won't be going. Expensive in the current market and yet another mistake from the hapless CEO. The sooner he leaves the club, the better.

So as a season ticket holder a league game costs me £17 and Mr Clegg thinks £14 is value for money. He has once again shown he as no idea. The crowd will be 4500. Well done Clegg.

I know there are costs with staging any game - staffing etc - but this really should be a loss leader e.g. £5 adults / £3 consessions / £1 kids. Also a Premier League / European top flight team would be so much more an attracive tie as the "showcase" friendly.

I spoke to Simon Clegg at the Suffolk Show (1st Day) and thanked him and the board for all their hard work. He did comment things hadn't gone too well on the pitch last season but they are hoping for much better this time around. A really nice gent.

Rob there will more than 4500 as West Ham alone will bring nearly that. Last time for the friendly they practically filled the upper tier of the Cobbold Stand.
For some people on here Clegg will do nothing right and whilst yes he has made mistakes he will never get praise from some of our supporters.

I'm not going to pretend I know anything about pricing strategies and whatever like many on here do, but my opinion has almost always been that Clegg is a bit of a clown. This is based purely on the way he comes across and basically nothing about if he is any good at his job or not, because truthfully not one of us knows.

Great deal for kids, but still well overpriced for Adults and only a £1 discount for season ticket holders !
Wow thanks Cleggy for a Pound off for committing to another season !
Luckily I will be holiday so I will save the full £15.
There will probably be more West Ham fans there than Town fans at these prices, as we seem to play West Ham every pre-season now when they are not in our League !
