Zola: Good Opportunity for Loach
Zola: Good Opportunity for Loach
Wednesday, 18th Jul 2012 09:10

Watford manager Gianfranco Zola has confirmed that his club has received an offer for keeper Scott Loach. The Hornets are understood to have accepted a Blues’ bid for the 24-year-old one-time Town academy schoolboy.

Zola said: "It is a possibility. Scott has got this opportunity and so we are considering it.

"We will see. As I said, it is a good opportunity for him. He looks like he is happy and that is an important thing."

Loach has all but confirmed the story on Twitter, responding to congratulations retweets of news stories relating to the switch and also saying: "This could be a dream come true! ‪#likeakidatxmas."

Watford are reported to be targeting either Carlo Cudicini or Manuel Almunia as Loach’s replacement at Vicarage Road.

Hopefully we will get Loach and Kello! Knowing our luck with keepers at least one of them will get injured!

Could we have Carlo Cudicini or Manuel Almunia instead?

Cudicini? Almunia? These old crocks? Tell you what, how about Gordon Banks? Better still, Paul Cooper?

Or how about a Watford reject over a vastly experienced keeper proven at the highest level. You choose.

Boredwiththisnow - What are you talking about!? Pull the trigger mate...

A town fan in goal who's a former England player, who's 24 and working with Webster and Klug!

Foolish comment 'watford reject' - Loach will be proud to wear the shirt and give it his all. That's all we ask isn't it?

Let's get Cudicini instead! Always liked him.

Loach will be a positive signing for many reasons.,

wouldn't describe loach as a watford reject - but similarly i ask for more than just givin his all. that's what ALB be does, and most fans and the manager don't think it is enough.

would take either cudicini or almunia over loach but expect beyond our finances and london more attractive for them to live. neither are that much older than van der saar when he went to Man Utd (and Almunia is younger)

this is one area of the pitch where i don't ming buying a 30 something.

but expect loach to be a good signing.

Loach needs to improve a lot to be first choice at PR.. ALB is better at the mo
