Bullard
Bullard "Out of Equation"
Monday, 6th Aug 2012 12:26

Midfielder Jimmy Bullard was left out of the squad for Saturday’s home friendly against his former club West Ham as he is “out of the equation”, according to assistant manager Chris Hutchings. Reports on Sunday claimed the Blues were looking to offload the 33-year-old, who failed to make a first team appearance during two years at Upton Park at the start of his career.

Bullard, who has a year remaining on his contract, was spotted at Portman Road before the game but wasn’t included in the 21-man squad with Hutchings explaining afterwards: “He’s just out of the equation at this moment in time.”

Asked whether there was anything more to it with rumours regarding Bullard’s exit, including claims of a possible switch to China, having been circulating over the summer, the assistant manager added: “There’s always rumours about everything, about players that we’re linked with and so on.”

Bullard's last league start for Town came last November in the 4-0 defeat to Burnley at Turf Moor.

Bullard is just an employee like any other employee and needs to be treated like one. If he turns up for training 'worse for wear' then he needs a written warning. When he does it again, then dismiss him and save the £15,000 pw.

He seems to be a write-off anyway.

Very sad that PJ could not manage him.

from what I have seen of Bullard fit or not you need to build a team around him- he does not have the legs to be able to defend.Given his unrelaibility we can not do this.

He seems to have issues and Town should be doing everything they can to get rid.

not impressed by some of these sad posts.. Jimmy Bullard doesnt deserve them.. has struggled in this league, but plenty of clubs would still like him at a realistic price..

i'd rather spread his £750k - £1m a year salary on someone who wants to play for us, he's proven to be just a gold digger as the hull fans told us

I would rather have Bullard on the bench or in the squad than Stevenson ,think he has played better than most in the pre season friendlies so far .Think there must be more to this story

I'm with Garv on this one, I will reserve judgement until we know the facts (and knowing the modern world of spin and PR we probabaly wont know anything) so none of us know what is going on (if anybody genuinely does know what's going on the I apologise, but I very much doubt there is anyone) we can't go around making accusations about the player.
Out of the equation does sound rather dubious of course, I just hope what ever is keeping jimmy out of the side goes away as when on form he's a match winner, I like everybody else want to see th on loan Jimmy back and not the one we've seen last season.

Sadly his signing was a mistake. Get rid now. He is a disruptive influence, and the Hull boys tols us so.

It seems to me that when I saw JB play last season that he didn't really make much of a difference, yeah I agree his salary for the remaining 1 year could possibly pay for our next transfer target (i.e Davies). where does the thing about JB staying of the booze come from? does he like to drink a bit?

If PJ is looking to offload him then make him available on a free transfer, when he joined us I thought he was way past his best and was skeptical about him wanting to play for ITFC. No idea what hes like in training, for me JB is not showing the required hunger and desire as the rest of younger players are showing?!?!

Can only see JB being a bit-part player this season, can't see him starting more than a dozen games this season.

how do yous all expect this club to go anywhere most pepole on this take the chance like a light to undermine people weather its the manager or the players moaning about it is not going to do anything ,until the day any player/manger leaves this football club we should be encourging them and geting behind them as much as we can like a real football club , moaning is the easy option about it so lets all get behind the team and the managment staff a show the league what this football club is realy about!!

amazing turnround in a year . came to us not match fit as he had been rotting at hull , and was a relevation , 8/10 most games. Gets a contract , plays only a few times and drops to 5/10 . What happened ? The guy was great at fulham and that wasnt years and years ago. he still had the legs when he came to us for the loan . brilliant player, what a waste of talent for some reason

i know jimmy can be a fool at times but form is temporary and class is permament.the reason why it hasnt worked 2nd time around is because he has never played in the free role he had during his loan spell.you cant play him at the back of a diamond like he was last season, thats not his position, hes wasted there and jewell knows that.after all the effort ME went to to sign him i find it strange that he hasnt been used properly.is it Jewells way of putting ME in his place?

If we do free up Bullards wages for signings we will still have to pay another players wages so the whole money wont be spent on the signing so you are looking at a player worth £350,000 ,you would not sign someone of Bullards ability for that money .
Try playing Jimmy with Luongo and Hyam in the centre to do his running something which has never been tried ,not once did Bullard start alongside Hyam last season and let Jimmy play his game which he did so effectively whilst on loan scoring 5 goals and assists .IMO

Jimmy lives in Surrey, so why dont we lone him out to Crawley Town, to get some games under his belt, it worked with Drury

Let's not forget Mr Bullard will be playing for a new contract this year, just like when we had him on loan. He has failed to live up to expectations for whatever reason, but if he only played well to get a contract when he arrived..... He can pull his finger out and do the same this year, can't he?
If he is the sort of person who does this, let's use it to our advantage, not farm him out and let another club benifit, that would be my common sense approach, after all if we loan him out, no club will want to pay even half of his overinflated, premadona, almost a has been service charges?
If someone wants to buy him based on last years efforts fine but are there any half sharp managers with a bottomless pit of cash to spend, with a fool and his gold mentality..... I doubt it?

Could JB do the same as what Scotland has shown by improved performances and a few goals to boot that earnt him a new albeit reduced terms contract, whatever JB will be playing for a new lesser contract and pressing 34 he is past his best in my opinion, JB needs to work very hard in little playing time hes probably only going to get in the coming season - but a week is a long time in football so who knows!!

Really can't see him penning a new deal.

what a player he was when trying to get a contract with us. shame it has not worked out for us. need to off load him soon as his wages are to high.

Edmunds5 added 17:15 - Aug 6
There has been a few of our players who have been out of the equation in the past, Drury, Lee Martin went to Charlton, Josh Carson at times. I think it's the way Jewell is and it's better to do that than pick someone because of their reputation. I think the term 'out of the equation' is a bit disrespectful to any player but if Jimmy's been involved in another incident and let the club down then I don't really want to see him at the club for much longer because it belittles us fans and the management team.

Well, Bullard is what football is. Greedy and out of touch with any ethics of sportsmanship. The Olympics have shown what nasty self-centred most of the Bullard-esque 'players' are, compared with real sportsmen. I suppose we'll struggle to get him off our books &/or, like Hull, face legal action.

Go boil your head Bullard, you are a con.

That said, hats off to Hull fans who pointed all this out, but like all of us I was conned too.

This is becoming a nasty industry, and it's just a matter of time, at this rate, that it disenfranchises the non-corporate fans entirely.

Rejected by the rest of this squad. That'll be why Martin, chambers and Chopra all went to watch the dark knight rises the other day. Those players are instrumental to the squad. One of our best and we have no idea what intonation "just" was said with or with what context.

When Bullard retires from the game will he look back on his career or just think about the money he has conned out of Hull and Ipswich ?

Unfortunately the guy has now become a joke and has lost total respect from the true blue fan.

Get rid of him asap.

Couldnt agree with you more seasonticketsteve especially the point re Davies although his form on injuries is hardly spectacular.

Shame things havent turned out with Jimmy, so far he's let himself, pj (who put a lot of trust in him after the hull debacle) and the club down. He has to grow some and keep working and staying off the beers.
