Carson Wins Cap as Sub
Wednesday, 15th Aug 2012 21:58

Midfielder Josh Carson won his fourth full cap as an 84th minute sub as Northern Ireland drew 3-3 with a Finland side which included Shefki Kuqi in a friendly in Belfast this evening.

Blues defender Damien Delaney didn’t add to his five senior caps, remaining on the bench thoughout the Republic of Ireland's 0-0 draw with Serbia in Belgrade.

Shefki is still playing? At international level?? Which club is he with?

Shefki is a free agent at the moment. 35 and still going strong.

Good on Carson for getting another cap, hope he has a good season with us and NI :)

We could add 'Jordan Rhodes scores his first international goal for Scotland against Australia' to get the comments going!

I think if you check it was not Shefki but his brother Njazi that was playing.

'remaining on the bench thoughout'? Is it mean't to be 'throughout' or is my punctuation wrong as usual? Haha

Anyway good experience for Carson, but Rhodes getting a goal for his country now is so frustrating. Ergh, Keane.

It was Njazi Kugi who played. He did have a trial for us at some point but didn't get offered a contract. He has had a rather limited career, lots of clubs where he barely or never played, like Birmingham. Apparently Mcauley saved a certain goal by running back and clearing a chipped effort of the line in the match. I remember seeing him run back to stop a goal and coliding at full speed with the goal post, shin first, dedicated defender. R
