Kiwomya's Son Dies
Friday, 21st Sep 2012 08:53

The seven-year-old son of former Blues striker and coach Chris Kiwomya died on Wednesday. Lucas Kiwomya was taken to Colchester General Hospital having suffered breathing problems after arriving at Highfields School in Lawford, Essex.

A spokesperson for the school said: "We are all devastated. Lucas was a delightful boy, with a ready smile and infectious giggle.

"He loved school and was always keen to do his best. He will be very sadly missed by staff and pupils alike."

Chris Kiwomya left the Town coaching staff at the end of last season and is now the development squad manager at Notts County. TWTD's thoughts are with Chris and his family.

I'm sure all football fans everywhere wish Chris and his family all the very best at this so sad a time. I can say from personal experence that time can heal a little, try and remember good times.

Used to Speak to Chris a lot when he was a town player and used to go the pubs and clubs of Ipswich. He is a smashing friendly bloke and my heart goes out to him and his family. I have young children too and it kind of hits home how football isnt the be and end all.
RIP.

I doubt Chris Kiwomya would see these messages of sympathy. It would be nice though if our comments could be communicated somehow

This is awful news. I used to attend Highfields (admittedly it was 18 plus years ago) but I know the staff will rally around the family and provide all the support the family will need! Words fail me too but all i can say is RIP Lucas and my thoughts are with the family.
