Soca Warriors Request Edwards Release Saturday, 3rd Nov 2012 09:01 Trinidad and Tobago have asked Town to release skipper Carlos Edwards for three Caribbean Football Union Cup qualifiers in November. The Blues are unlikely to allow the 34-year-old old to play in all of the games as two fall outside FIFA’s international window and would mean that Edwards, who has been capped 82 times by his country, scoring four goals, would miss Town’s game at Leicester City on Saturday 17th November. The Soca Warriors play St Vincent and the Grenadines on Wednesday 14th November, a designated international date, but then take on Surinam on the Friday and Cuba on the Sunday, outside the window. All the matches take place in Bacolet, Tobago. T&T interim coach Hutson Charles has confirmed that he has made a request to Town, but with the Blues in the position they are in is unlikely to be the winner of this particular club versus country tug of war and have Edwards available for the second two matches. The top two teams in the four-team group go through to the Caribbean Football Union Cup finals which are being held in Antigua & Barbuda in December.
