Monday, 3rd Dec 2012 16:09

Town have announced that the date of the FA Cup third round tie against Aston Villa at Villa Park has been provisionally set for Saturday 5th January.

The game is still subject to possible change with TV games yet to be set. Ticketing details should be announced later this week.

The teams have previously been drawn together in the competition on four occasions with Town victorious twice and Villa twice.

Probably best holding fire on buying train tickets until closer to the time anyway - you never know what the weather's gonna be doing by that time of year!

Would be surprised if they rearranged this for telly though... They'd really have to be struggling to choose this tie, I'd have thought?

NoCanariesAllowed I thought we might get lucky with a TV showing on this one no big Prem V Prem fixtures and Ex-Norwich mananger one of our top ex players and tv companies like stuff like that

Not so sure myself. West Ham v Man Utd is virtually certain to be first pic, one of the lower league trips involving Everton or Liverpool will probably be chosen, while if they're after an interesting chance of a Champ-Prem upset, I feel they're more likely to look at the likes of Palace and Brighton rather than us. And it wouldn't surprise me if Southampton v Chelsea gets shown ahead of us too.

I could of course be wrong - especially if Micko happens to keep us on a good run to push us up the table - but I've seen more promising ties of ours turned down before and I don't think we're the draw we might once have been. Plus I'd rather they didn't mess up my own travel plans anyway!

I will be going with my son who is a bleeding Villa supporter! I thought I had succeeded in brain washing him until Darren Bent went there! He's the only kid that wears an Aston Villa top in my area. Hey ho! Once we're back in the Premier League I will show him the error of his ways!

I would be surprised if our game was on TV as there are a few games that would be higher priority - West Ham Vs Man U, Saints Vs Chelsea, Lincoln or Mansfield Vs Liverpool (everyone loves an underdog Vs Prem team match) and Swansea Vs Arsenal. There are also other Prem Vs Champ/League 1 matches: Fulham Vs Blackpool, Man City Vs Watford, Spurs Vs Coventry, Palace Vs Stoke etc.

We'll be lucky to get a TV spot, but should still be a good game.

There's no chance of a TV showing so that date will be fixed, if we were playing them at home then a slight chance but you can guarantee as most other years Man Utd will be shown a lot and bet your bottom dollar they (Sky or ITV) will defo show their game against West Ham - so no difference from a sky Premiership game!

Depends on the performances, if we are mid table and topping form charts and they are struggling then a good chance, also if other matches are called off it could be on but doubt it we
just depends on are form and theirs

No chance of re-arrangement, Birmingham are away and no TV company would touch this one- even I'm not very interested in watching it, let alone the casual observer.
