Murphy in for Barnett
Saturday, 8th Dec 2012 14:39

Blues boss Mick McCarthy has made one change for today’s home game against his old club Millwall with Daryl Murphy coming in up front for Tyrone Barnett, who drops to the bench.

Luke Hyam (calf) and Nigel Reo-Coker (hamstring) are both still absent, while Luke Chambers (illness) and Bradley Orr (stiff neck) keep their places despite having been doubts.

For Millwall, ex-Blue Liam Trotter and one-time Town target James Henry return after injury. Full match preview here

Meanwhile, there’s a switch of referee, David Coote from Nottingham taking over from Carl Boyeson. Coote has shown 48 yellow and three red cards in 16 games so far this season. His last Town match was the 2-1 defeat at Hull City in October in which he booked four players, all from Town.

Town: Henderson, Orr, Chambers, Smith, Cresswell, Edwards, N'Daw, Drury, Martin, Murphy, Campbell. Subs: Loach, Hewitt, Higginbotham, Carson, Emmanuel-Thomas, Chopra, Barnett.

Millwall: Forde, A Smith, Shittu, Beevers, Lowry, Henry, Abdou, Trotter, C Taylor; Keogh, Wood. Subs: M Taylor, J Smith, Osborne, Malone, Wright, Feeney, N'Guessan.

3 goals scored ... Clean sheet ... great result ending a teams run who were on a very good unbeaten run ... 3 wins in a row, two of which were in or around the play offs ... and 10 out of 12 points at Portman road, very happy indeed

Where does everyone go when we win? It seems there are far more comments after we've lost. Rejoice when we win. Great result again today, as people have said earlier a clean sheet is a sign that our defence is getting settled and we're scoring goals up front, a good recipe that. Mick even had the luxury of putting Hewitt on towards the end. I'm also a part time Qpr fan at the moment, hopefully there strikers can score and they can win a few so we have more chance of keeping DJ, Good to see Murphy getting some form going aswell.

Second post of the day ! I do agree that there does seem to be less comments when we win .They are most likely in shock because quite honestly I didn't think we would win so convincingly today. We must try and keep DJ because he offers something different to the team.Having said that all the players seem to be improving and have a different attitude under MM .Long may it continue ! We must now go to Leeds with the same approach and who knows we could turn them over too!We wouldn't have said that a few weeks ago. Carry on like this and who knows what the second half of the season might bring?!
