Scotland to Join Barnsley
Monday, 28th Jan 2013 12:01

Former Town striker Jason Scotland is set to sign for Championship Barnsley this afternoon, having failed to agree personal terms with League One Notts County, where he was training at the end of last week. TWTD reported the Tykes’ interest in the Trinidad and Tobago international last Sunday.

Scotland, who settled his contract with the Blues earlier in the month, will move to Oakwell until the end of the season.

When he left i wished him all the best but now as much as i love him i hope he doesn't score 1 goal! Hope he doesn't score goals and drag us into a battle!

So here we are in a relegation scrap, and one of our own players has now had his contract settled, so that he can go and help them send us down. If we had sent him out on loan to the end of the season, we could have controlled where he went.

I despair, I really do.

Kind of player that will fit well into Barnsley's style of play.
They must be thinking they have got a major bargain.
We have given away our best finisher (except Campbell who isn't here anymore)

'Glad we could help out one of our relegation rivals. Such a friendly club. [Said with bitter irony...]

Scotland to join Barnsley? So will Scotland become a democratic republic of Barnsley?

Watch him bang them in for fun! What a mistake we've made!

I couldn't put it better than Lord_Mac.

Scotland could become a hit at Barnsley like Delaney is at Palace, another player we paid to leave and a rival is now benefitting from.

When they say "settled his contract" what does that mean??
Have we paid him off only for him to sign for a rival team and earn double bubble??

I disagree, if he didn't have a future here then there is no point in keeping him, Jason probably wants to get out and play and feel worthy at another club especially baring in mind he is in the latter stages of his career. Sometimes you have to look at the players point of view instead of just looking at our position and negotiations, at least the club are being honest to the person and not letting him rot away at the club likr Lambert is doing to Darren Bent.

i cannot understand why this player wsasnt even tested under mcarthy. when campbell was substituted i thought jason would have been the ideal sub. it would have been like for like, both are capable of doing the same thing in the same position.might of been better sending jet out on loan and letting jason fill in for dj while we sorted out wether he was staying or not (like we didnt see that one coming!)but alas we'll never know.good luck jason, another player who we never gave a proper chance to shine
