Scout McCall Watching Arsenal's U21s
Monday, 28th Jan 2013 14:17

Blues chief scout Steve McCall is at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground this afternoon watching the Gunners’ U21 side in action against West Ham. German midfielder Thomas Eisfeld, who is believed to be a potential Town target, started for the home team.

Spanish central defender Ignasi Miquel, who was watched by previous boss Paul Jewell in September, is also in the Arsenal side, which lost 2-0.

Agreed, but it may be the way sideways until we can resume forward motion in the future.

JET, Reece Wabara, Lee Martin even. Just because they come from a big name club doesn't mean they are ready to take the Championship by storm and solve our problems (or even the problem area they are brought in specifically for)

Why on earth is Steve McCall still at the club? He's presided over our mediocre scouting network for far too long

Jimmyjazz, you seem to leave out the successful loans & players who have dropped into the championship. Eagles, cleverly, Lansbury, noble, colback and gio to name a few that went to other clubs & came to us.

Tractorboy24 - Colback I'll give you although Sunderland aren't part of the big name clubs I was thinking of. The others all had some experience on their side, but Eisfeld and Miquel (if that is who we are looking at) don't.
Lansbury can hardly get a game at Forest this season

I don't think Lansbury, cleverly & eagles had much first team experience prior to joining Watford on loan. Neither did noble before he came to us, it's just a very short sighted approach to dismiss every young loanee because of a few poor examples when there are just as many good examples.

The comments here beggars belief ! The team is screaming out for quality and youth rather than has beens that are happy to take the money and hardly ever turn up !! In the past we always had youth in our team and this was our success . We certainly do not need also rans as we could soon be in a precarious position after tonight's results!!
