Henderson Set to Return - Updated
Thursday, 31st Jan 2013 21:45

Former loan keeper Stephen Henderson is rejoining the Blues for a second spell from West Ham, according to TWTD sources in Ireland, his switch to Blackburn having broken down earlier this afternoon.

Boss Mick McCarthy said that the Irishman could return to Portman Road for a second spell at the end of last week, despite the Hammers insisting on a 24-hour recall clause.

The 24-year-old made 16 appearances during his first spell at Town between October and the start of this month.

I am glad as I think we are a better team with him in goal.

No way. Please try and get Kelvin Davcis instead, not the one piece of transfer news I wanted to hear.

Would have prefered someone else but I guess Hendo is who we shall have to settle for intill the summer. At least he won't have to gel into the team.
Hopefully we can sign a winger in the next hour or so

Positive - really not sure what some people on here expect us to announce - Live in the real world - He got better the longer he was with us and we are looking solid at the back - I am happy with the signings - maybe another CM with some attacking flair and thats it

..And having nearly signed for Blackburn, Henderson will return to us no doubt claiming his undying love for Town and how we are the only Club for him. Shallow footballers one and all!

Can he play on the wing this time?

If this is the best we can do then we are in trouble. Seriously just one loan and frankly pointless loan deal on deadline day? I don't really rate loach, but creativity and goal scoring still a concern in my opinion. We must do better. Disappointing.

He did get better as he played more games, I'd put him and loach at the same sort of level now!

We were at least solid at the back with Henderson in goal, hoping we sign someone else in the next hour too though.

not good. The guy doesn't make any saves!

I think we already have enough to be honest, would love to have seen a wideman in but looks unlikely now .... Henderson is NO better than Loach from what I have seen so naturally disapointed to see a BLUE relegated to the bench for Henderson who hasn't impressed me what so ever....

Did well under Mick first time around..is it a coincidence that results have fallen away since he got injured/returned to W.Ham?

Ideally i'dve liked to have seen us bring in an attacking midfielder/winger who is capable of scoring goals, seeing as none of the other sods are capable of doing that it seems.

We're 21st in the table and in real danger of relegation, so we sign... a goalkeeper on loan with a 24-hour recall clause. :-(

Fact is the team played better defensively with Hendo in goal. This misplaced loyalty to Loach needs to end. We absolutely must stay up in this league. MM is the man to keep us up this season and hopefully build something better for next season. I trust Mick.

Stop the whinging. It's starting to sound like the Jewell days all over again.

COYB!

Great news hopefully Hendo will be back for Saturday,Loach has let in far too many soft goals this season, fingers crossed were splashing the cash

What a waste of a loan! Playmakers and wingers is what we need! Loach had done nothing wrong!!

Must say we did seem to be more solid at the back with him in goal once he had settled in.

Totally pointless signing.
May as well sell Loach too as this would have completely destroyed his confidence !

Better than Loach or not, we need 3 goalies and now we have them without incurring a transfer fee. And this is wrong, how?
