West Brom Target Reo-Coker
Saturday, 2nd Feb 2013 08:35

Former Town midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker is being targeted by Premier League West Brom, according to a report this morning. Reo-Coker left Portman Road earlier in the month at the end of his short-term spell having been unable to agree new terms.

The Baggies are looking for a replacement for youngster George Thorne, who has suffered a knee ligament injury. As a free agent Reo-Coker can join Albion outside the transfer window.

Town offered the 28-year-old a contract until the end of the season but the former Wimbledon, Aston Villa, West Ham and Bolton man wanted a longer term deal.

Considering he struggles at this level, he will not be able to compete at Premiership level.

Struggled at Champonship Level. Would have thought he would be better in League 1 (where he could make a definite impact). Strange decision by West Brom but they are welcome to him. His effort at times was poor but he had a good set of lungs.

massive disconnect between the ability he thinks he has and reality! Not sure he would even make the Bury midfield!

That's WBAs decline sealed then, in the same way that applied to West Ham, Villa and Bolton when he was there.

Big Name Syndrome again, which we've suffered from, all too often, especially in the Jewell era

I don't understand this at all. Surely they must have scouted him?

I am sorry for WBA !!! Surely anybody he saw him for us would realise - this is a player in serious decline - Still who cares - I am more concerened about how our Midfield does today and hopefully seeing Wordsworth get some time - feel strangely confident today - which , after recent home performances - not sure why , Hope McGoldrick scores - Loved Mogga , Venus and Clapham but not today

He should link up well with that other genius Odenwinge.

Ha ha heres no way, on the performances I saw from Reo-Coker, that he's a Premier League player.

If West Brom think he is, more fool them. Saying that, I greatly respect their stance on Odenwinge, made him look a fool along with his greed ridden agent(s). If more clubs took the same stance the game would be in a better state.
