Tabb's Loan Extended
Thursday, 4th Apr 2013 12:32

Midfielder Jay Tabb's loan from Reading has been extended into a second month, which will see him remain at Town until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old made three starts and one sub appearance in his first 28-day spell at Portman Road.

The former Republic of Ireland U21 international is out of contract with the Royals at the end of the season.

this won't cover the play offs, so assume we can extend it once more if the need arises?

can't compare him to Stockwell until he adds goals to his game.

crucial squad player especially in this month, where we need as many fresh players as possible.

He is turning out to be a very handy addition to the squad at the moment. Clearly class on his day and its clear to see why he was rated so highly at Reading. If he stays and continues to show his worth, think it would be a no brainer about offering him a contract at the end of the season. Providing he wants to saty, of course!

He's not a left midfielder.

he has put in good shifts since coming to Town this is good news. Big Mick and his crew have done well in their choice of players ,If we can just keep doing as well or better than the teams below us i think we will have a decent team to start next season . COYB

Think we should keep him until the end of the season. He's shown more potential in 3 or 4 games than Lee Martin's done in 40! I agree that i don't think he's a natural left midfielder but i'd say that about Lee Martin too. Think in the summer we need a goalkeeper and two wingers as a must.

I really like what I have seen so far.. he is defo wearing Micky Stockwells old shorts though. from the stand at first I thought they might be his Dad's. If he can add some goals to his game then, he could be the new Stockwell.

my view is that he has made a good contribution, gives 100% and is clever at this level. just the type you want to help avoid relegation.

There is no doubt we missed him in the starting line up at Millwall as he adds a different perspective to Martin who although tries very and did put over a couple of decent crosses does not have the compusure of Tabb. Good news in my opinion but then MM does not get too much wrong.

I would rather have him than Lee Martin, but again he is not a left winger. We desperately need two wide men next season for starters!

Well ippy4life I have been to all 4 of the games he has played for us and can tell you he's better than Lee Martin and am very happy we've got him for the season

Jay Tabb has looked very strong for us! Don't forget he won us that game against Leeds by being fouled! He also very nearly scored a goal! Something that I think we'll all agree Lee Martin cannot do.

He's a quality player who has been superb since he came in.

Had made a real difference and really hope we can keep him come the end of the season.
