Winter Nets First for Leiston
Monday, 8th Apr 2013 11:01

On-loan academy striker Tom Winter netted his first goal for Leiston as they beat Wingate and Finchley 3-0 at home on Saturday. Winter, one of the five second-year scholars to have been offered a professional deal by the Blues, was making his second start for the Ryman League Premier Division side.

In League Two, Josh Carson supplied the pass for Adam Reed’s goal as his loan club York City drew 1-1 at home to Accrington Stanley.

Ronan Murray, who last week was told he would not be offered new terms by the Blues in the summer, was an injury time sub for Plymouth as they beat Cheltenham 2-0 at home.

In the Blue Square Bet South, Jack Ainsley and Joe Whight, also told their time with Town will come to an end at the end of the season, were in the Chelmsford side which lost 1-0 at home to Bath City.

A shame how Ronan hasn't really pushed on. DiCanio wanted to pay a fee to take him the other year but we rejected it (something I thought right at the time). Reminds me of Dean McDonald, the same happened with him, didn't someone offer us something like £250K for him?

Really hope Carson can come back and do it for us next season - with him and Taylor, that could be like two new signings...

Ah Dean McDonald....yes, Royle turned down a bid for him and then he joined Gillngham for nothing.

Scored on his debut but drifted into the Non League. Then had a succesful trial at Swansea in in 2010 who wanted to sign him but couldn't agree a few with Farnborough.

Currently at Macclesfield where he has failed to find the net in six games.
