Judge to Rejoin Blackburn
Thursday, 16th May 2013 16:48

Blackburn Rovers are reported to have agreed a deal to sign Town target Alan Judge when his Notts County contract expires at the end of June. The 24-year-old, who started his career at Ewood Park, was available on a free transfer having decided to leave Chris Kiwomya’s League One club at the end of the season.

On Saturday, TWTD reported that the Blues were facing opposition from Blackburn with Judge having worked under current caretaker-manager Gary Bowyer while with the Rovers academy. Bowyer is tipped to get the job permanently.

Derby and Charlton were also in the hunt for the Dubliner, who we revealed was back on the Blues' radar earlier in the month having previously been eyed last summer.

Rovers are also reported to have completed the signing of Millwall winger Chris Taylor, also on a Bosman free transfer.

Judge's apparent decision to rejoin Blackburn means that Blues boss Mick McCarthy, whose discussions regarding his summer plans with owner Marcus Evans are currently ongoing, will now have to look elsewhere for additions to his wide midfield options with Judge having been close to the top of his summer wish-list.

Albert Adomah would be a great target to go for but i remember seeing Bristol City ask for £3m+ from Crystal Palace when they sold Zaha in January. (could just have been paper talk though)

H32.... yes it does sound all to familiar but in the short time MM has been here, seldom have we even heard about our supposed interest in players, Mick plays his cards very close to his chest and the first we here is when they sign. So no reason for alarm here i feel.... coyb

Come on Mick. Surprise us! I'm sure the scouting staff have a long line of targets after their months of work. I'm still optimistic we'll make some good signings and that Mick will then get the very best out of what we've got.

I don't get all this disappointment, it isn't a FACT that he was ever that close to signing or that we had even gone for him, as I said on a previous thread I suspected that this may just be a regurgitation of the story earlier on this season. Supposing we were in for him though, I struggle to come to terms with all this business that if he goes to Blackburn he somehow lacks ambition and it must be for the money, how dare he chose the club he started out at, that gave him his footballing education, the club that probably most feels like home to him, how dare he shun us over his own personal reasons, I'm sure he will get booed in the absence of facts when he visits next and we inspire him to bag a brace in the process, hey ho. Best of luck AJ in what ever YOU chose to do.

Perhaps his preferred choice of club was one that encourages creativity, rather than the dogged Ipswich approach

some embarrassing sour grapes on here... Alan Judge is said to be dense from a few County players, but I wont hold that against him...

On the contrary, if this is not a place for making insulting sour grape comments about players then what is it for? If I want to be bored I will read towns press releases. Anyone thinking that the comments made on here are anything other than letting off steam needs to get a sense of perspective. This is TWTD not the flipping BBC. I think you take your comments far too seriously and need to tone down the pompous filter on your browser settings. This forum is the metaphorical equivalent of the monkeys in the monkey cage chucking poo at the passers by--- we think we own the zoo, but the truth is the players are just passing through for their own entertainment and our only power is to chuck a bit of our finely crafted verbal turds at them.

Surely a little offer from MM for Ebanks?

Once again, Clegg's dithering costs us. We are a LAUGHING STOCK.

After a good start to the summer his is disappointing news. But, money talks I'm afraid and we simply can not compete with Blackburn, who still receive the parachute payments.

maybe we were a bit quick in not offering martin an improved offer.
we now need to sign 2 wingers when we could have signed 1 and kept martin and made the 2 players compete.
I like antonio at sheff wed he has so much pace.
most wingers significantly better than martin we cannot afford so mick will have to find some lower league gems.

I am writing this during Monday morning 20th May. Although BBC Sports news is not the quickest of sites, I normally check on there to confirm stuff that I have read elsewhere. There is no talk of Alan Judge signing for them. The only thing that seems to be on there is talk about Blackburn being in total disarray. I, for one, am still keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

Also as Brentford have not made it the championship, I am now hoping for some quick and decisive news on Harry Forrester. Go on MM and TC. Get in there quick!!
