Town at Gillingham in Pre-Season
Thursday, 13th Jun 2013 13:36

Town will be travelling to the Priestfield Stadium to take on Gillingham in a pre-season friendly against the newly-promoted League One side on Tuesday 16th July (7.30pm).

The Blues were last in action against the Gills in a pre-season friendly in July 2008 when the game ended in a 1-1 draw..

Tommy Miller scored a second half penalty for the Blues after Danny Haynes had been fouled, Simeon Jackson having put the home side in front before the break.

You can find a list of Town’s confirmed pre-season friendlies here.

Great fixture for me as I get to go home having spent the last six years living in IP5 !! I know Tommy (Smith) so will have a bit of banter leading up to the game !!

You'll bring good. numbers too which will be good....

SucrePB1, maybe that's why Phil decided against a picture of the stadium?

Easy place to get out off, if travelling by train.

I think Gillingham (like Crawley) will give us a good match, the others I reckon we can easily beat

is the lower level of teams due to us not being able to host a 'bigger club' at PR though we are seen as the bigger club in these games ?

personally if not for prestige I would like to see us sharpening up against someone from our league

...... one thing about it is - the players won't be travel sick from the arranged pre-season friendlies - or be tested much in terms of opposition.

Run outs - and that's about all i'm afraid.
