Keeper Williams Back Training With Tranmere Wednesday, 26th Jun 2013 11:14 Free agent keeper Owain Fon Williams has rejoined the Tranmere squad for pre-season training this week with the League One club hopeful that the Welshman will sign a new deal at Prenton Park. The Blues, Blackpool and Bristol City are understood to be amongst the other clubs to have offered the 26-year-old terms this summer. While a switch to a Championship club may hold its attractions, Williams may feel that he has more chance of playing first team football by staying in League One. Having released Arran Lee-Barrett and Jason Brown at the end of the season, Scott Loach is currently Town’s only senior keeper and one, probably two, new glovesmen are likely to be on manager Mick McCarthy’s summer wish list. The Blues have held talks with West Ham regarding Stephen Henderson returning on a season-long loan with McCarthy not ruling out the Irishman rejoining the club earlier in the week, while Millwall’s David Forde is also believed to be amongst the keepers interesting the Town boss.
