Bramble on the Bench at Barnet
Saturday, 20th Jul 2013 14:16

Titus Bramble is again in the Town squad for today’s friendly against Blue Square Bet Premier Barnet at their new Hive Stadium. There is no place in the travelling party for another of the recent trialists, Tottenham’s Bongani Khumalo, while keeper Dean Gerken misses out with a minor groin injury and winger Paul Anderson is also absent due to a minor hamstring injury.

Academy keeper Michael Crowe comes into the first team squad for the first time during pre-season and left-back Aaron Cresswell is back after a thigh problem. Barnet manager Edgar Davids starts for the home side.

Town: Loach, Hewitt, Chambers, Smith, Cresswell, Hammond, Skuse, Wordsworth, Tabb, Murphy, McGoldrick. Subs: Crowe, Veseli, Bramble, Mings, October, Lawrence, Hyam, Berkane, Carson, Chopra. Nouble.

Pretty much a full strength line up, with the exception of maybe hyam as a sub and Hammond on the wing! Good to see Hewitt getting a start, come on you blues!!!

Jish Carson has gotten a fair amount of game & match day squad time over the pre-season. There is certainly a player in there capable of performing at Championship level, maybe he has learned from his mistakes & can make an impact for us this season.

Could Khumalo's exclusion mean we aren't taking him as Berra is about to sign?

Think no Anderson because he is either injured, or Mick knows he will be first choise and wants to have a better look at some other players. He will be starting next game.

Would seem with Veseli and potentially Berra both becoming permanent signings, Bramble and Khumalo aren't crucial to our plans. Certainly wouldn't expect both of them to come in, perhaps one or the other.

Anderson has an injury, surprised Hyam has not started.
