Edwards's Soca Warriors Exit Gold Cup
Sunday, 21st Jul 2013 11:02

Carlos Edwards and Trinidad and Tobago exited the CONCACAF Gold Cup at the quarter-final stage overnight after losing 1-0 to Mexico in Atlanta. Raul Jimenez scored the only goal of the game in the 84th minute.

Edwards, who was subbed in the 89th minute as he won his 87th full cap, will now join up with the Town squad but seems unlikely to be involved in Tuesday’s friendly at Colchester United.

Good. Need to get him back - seems to have had a new lease of life under MM now he is playing in his proper position.

No shame going out in a quarter final to Mexico. Hopefully he will return on a high.

Get back quick Carlos. No time to rest. Mick is rebuilding and your place is under threat.

Great to see competition for every place. Players will have to be on top of their game to stay in the side. It been a long time since that happened.

Good news in a selfish way. He can come home and freshen up for the start of the season now. Its probably the first season since he's been here where he actually has to fight for his place.
