The TWTD Banner Vote Thursday, 8th Aug 2013 10:33
TWTD Message Boarders have spent the summer coming up with designs for banners and you can help choose which ones will appear in the Portman Road stands.
There are six designs up for consideration, which you can see below. Vote for your favourite here and once the funding is raised the top two will be manufactured with the club already agreeing that they can be hung in the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand.
The project will cost around £500 is being crowd sourced with all donations gratefully received. For more details and to make a donation, click here.
Textbackup, who instigated the banner plan, told TWTD how the idea came about: “It was purely to show that we're proud of our history and want to see the good times return in the near future. The ideas for the banners came from lots of people on the Message Board with DanTheMan knocking them into shape.”

I'd like Mick should be in , for he is a pride of Anglia at the moment, he is our manager. , and he saved us from certain doom last season which gives him certain amount of clout in my mind. i understand he needs also to prove he can move us the other way to put him in legendary territory. so for now i say A and agree TWTD should be in there somewhere too.

F We need to stop living in the past and get properly behind MM and the team.

they are all awful imo but if I was forced at gunpoint to chose I'd pick A!!!

B with Sir Bobbys picture from A on it

Great design but my suggestions: 2 managers (pics from statues?) and TWTD. PRIDE OF ANGLIA is enough. We don't need to say 'since 1978'? We won the league in 62! And ONE star. ONE. It signifies League titles. Norwich will never top that :-)

^It says 1878 which is when we were established

The top two? B followed by A, but I'll vote A as B is running away with it! Too soon for Mick, yes, even though he did an amazing job last season. George Burley deserves to be up there for his contribution as both a player and especially a manager. 5th in the Premier League after promotion? A huge achievement! I like the trophies too, we should not be ashamed of success!

maybe the Sir Bob face from A is better then B, so could have been a bit more options by changing images rather then strangely adding Mick.

Hi guys, I'm the one who has done the images. Most people have (probably quite rightly) said that B does not really look like Sir Bobby. and could we have the one from A instead. How does that look to everyone? I can move that quite easily into B.

Not sure why it includes George Burley. Alright he was the last successful manager that we had but all we won under his leadership was the play-off final at Wembley. If you are going to depict managers that won things, then John Lyall ought to be included for being champions of the second division. So I would go for B or F

E As much as George Burley did well I don't think he could really be considered along with Sir Bobby and Alf if you look at the long history of the club (John Lyall won promotion). Regarding the Pride of Anglia bit not particularly keen on.

Ps seems B is leading the way so that's the next best thing to E.

I appreciate a lot of effort will have gone into the designs, but if TWO are to be chosen & displayed in the same stand, why are all 6 variations on the same theme? So far most people seem to favour A and/or B - have another look at those 2 designs - if A is displayed in one part of Sir Alf Stand, and B relatively close by in another part of the same stand, won't that look a bit odd and disjointed? An alternative approach would have been to have 3 designs featuring famous managers and 3 featuring famous players, and then vote for 1 design from each set. With or without the trophies.

@awayfan The idea is that we can take one with us on away days. We started off with just the idea of having one banner but thought we could raise enough money for two. Should be fine as long as we have the certificate for it. You can talk to textbackup about that though, I'm just doing designs based on what people have asked for.

@DanTheMan i feel not enough credit has been given to you for putting the effort in to get this going. It is definitely appreciated

It's got to be A, I know you could put Mick on there to show our support, but he hasn't earned a place as a legendary manager yet.

@DanTheMan thanks for the reply and I echo @Davin44's comment that the effort that has gone into this is much appreciated - thank you! To those generating the ideas behind the designs, my point remains the same - was any consideration given to having 2 contrasting (rather than "nearly but not quite the same") banners given they will be displayed fairly close together at home matches? The idea of taking only one of the banners to away games doesn't alter my point.

Has to be B, but yeah DantheMan put that Bobby picture on B

Just want to say, thanks to those who have donated and for all the feedback. We've raised £35 so far :) Hopefully will not be too long before we get the whole way!
