Yallop New Chicago Boss Thursday, 31st Oct 2013 21:33 Former Town defender Frank Yallop has been appointed the coach and director of soccer at MLS side the Chicago Fire following the departure of Frank Klopas, who was sacked on Monday after two seasons in charge. Yallop, who left his previous club the San Jose Earthquakes by mutual consent in June, starts his new job next week and says the basis of a decent side is already in place: “The team itself -- with a bit of tinkering -- is a good squad. "I'll have a team of people working for the same goal but in the end the final decision of who we get in the club will be mine. That's something I was looking for and something I'm very excited about." Yallop, 49, who has previously been in charge of the Canadian national side and the LA Galaxy, had also been linked with the Vancouver Whitecaps.
