Woking Confirm Marriott Loan
Friday, 8th Nov 2013 15:15

Skrill Premier side Woking have confirmed that Blues striker Jack Marriott has joined them on a month's loan.

Speaking yesterday, manager Mick McCarthy said he hoped the 19-year-old would get matches under his belt while on loan ready to return for the busy festive period: “Like everybody else, we’ve got a really serious Christmas time with games and if he can go out and get a month’s football, playing six or seven games with a really competitive edge to [them that will benefit him].

“The U21s doesn’t always have that competitive edge, so it would serve us well coming into Christmas.”

Marriott, who has made one senior sub appearance for the Blues, is likely to make his Woking debut when they face Dartford at home on Tuesday.

Jack's contract is up at the end of the season and it is vital that the manager establishes whether he has a future at this club as soon as possible, as none of us want to see another youngster with goal scoring ability leave for nothing/peanuts.

Jack needs to re-enforce his undoubted potential in competitive first team matches and I think this month will do him the world of good. Let's hope he comes back after a sucessful loan spell and pushes on to get first team action with us and wins a new contract, to continue his education under the watchful eye of TC.

Good luck Jack. Show them what you are made of.

With luck he will get a few starts(otherwise no point in sending him there) having watched some conference games online recently there are a few "Animal" centre backs(ie; slow as hell but built like an outhouse) who will certainly give him a bit of a rough time that can only be a great learning curve for him and will be a test of his mettle!!, good luck Jack bang a few in and come back raring to go(we always need options up front) in a blue shirt.
