Town Reveal Agent Spending
Monday, 2nd Dec 2013 10:47

Town have announced that they made payments of £398,807.69 to licensed agents during the period October 1st 2012 to September 30th 2013.

An FA rule requires that payments made to licensed agents must be published on clubs’ websites before the end of November. In the year to September 30th 2012, the Blues made payments of £364,252.84.

In September, the Football League's Agents' Fees Report showed that the Blues spent £551,878 on agents’ fees during the year to June 30th 2013, up from the £233,990 spent in the previous 12 months.

Didn't we spend about 1 mil on agents over a similar period not too long ago Phil? Anyone?

I absolutely begrudge every single penny spent on agents.

I loath the way agents are continuing to drain our hard earned cash out of the Club.

Unfortunately, I don't know what the answer is, given that they have their hooks into most players at all clubs at this level and seem to hold so much power. Perhaps the Financial Fair Play rules may help to some degree, but I am afraid agents are here to stay, along with the high ticket prices, which is the main problem with the modern game.

Well, we didn't pay anything for the players.. 10 in at 40k each inc agents fee's, is good business.

Don't think we ever paid as much as that, in fact we've actually paid an awful lot less on a couple of occasions: http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/search:agents%27%20fees

Botesdaleble....

....did anybody see Middlesbrough lowered ticket prices there at the weekend at the request of the manager and they managed a great gate with a rocking atmosphere. I think it was there biggest gate of the season. Maybe the board will consider a trial period at the end of the year?? Say the last three home games ?.
If it works we could continue it for next season. £26 is a fair whack when the ground is half empty.

BlueBhoy - Yes I certainly did. It put around 9000 on their gate.

On Mick's first home game on 10/11/12 against Burnley, we got only 16,297, way down on the 17,509 average gate for last year. This in itself shows that the Club just cannot get it right on matchday ticket prices. I shall be at the AGM on Thursday and fully anticipate hearing the same old broken record on the Club's ticket pricing strategy.

Im marcacus. Yet another on here who doesnt think before posting. That was what we paid the agents alone. Every one of those players we signed would also have been paid a substantial signing on fee due to them being out of contract. Thers no such thing in football as a "FREE" transfer.

With the number of players looking for work due to the fair rules it is time for clubs to say no to agents. We signed 10 players all out of work its a case of do they want work or an agent.
