New Home Kit Launched
New Home Kit Launched
Saturday, 3rd May 2014 08:55

Town have launched their new adidas-manufactured home kit, which is available for pre-order from 9am.

The club’s director of retail, Lee Hyde, told the club site that the players were impressed with the new strip, which is reminiscent of the kits worn by Sir Bobby Robson’s sides in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

“It was a job making sure the lads didn’t disappear out of the door with the kit,” he said. “You don’t mind that to be honest, it’s when they’re throwing it back at you that you need to worry!”

The new home shirt can be pre-ordered from ITFC Direct or at Planet Blue for collection from July 8th before general sale starts on Saturday 12th July. The new shirts cost £34.99 (youth) and £44.99 (adult).

Those pre-ordering will receive an invitation to take part in the biggest ever Town team photo alongside the first-team squad at an event during pre-season.

Looks ok just wish they'd do an option to not have the sponsors name on it.

That much detedted sponsors name on the shirt us one if the few way ME can put money into the club. Plus for every £ you decide to spend Evans is allowed to match. So think on !

He'd stand more chance of having my money if there was an option to not have his name on it. As it is that option isn't there so my money will stay in my pocket.

Can't work out if I like it or not. I'd really like to see Adidas make and release our proper retro shirts rather than the knock off ones that we sell now with two stripes etc.

Truckerblue. I suspect youd find fault in judt about anything in life. One of lifes moaners. If you dont like it dint buy it. Better still go and support a club who doesnt have a shirt sponsor. Guess you'll be a long time looking eh!

Love it, well done Adidas, just hope that the badge isn't stuck on again as that really cheapened this year's kit.

I don't have time to decide whether I like it, as it'll be changed again before we know it.

I really like the shirt - and as for the sponsors logo I don't mind it although I'm not a big fan weird E behind it- if it was just his name in that font it wouldn't be as bad

ArnieM. Are you naturally stupid or does it take practice? "If you don't link it go and support someone else" yes that'll help immensely won't it. Even less money going into the club!! I've supported them since the 70's and am only voicing an opinion which obviously isn't the same as yours. £45 isn't cheap for a shirt but I'll not be buying it as I don't like the ME on the front so the club will lose out not just from me but a fair number of others too. If on the other hand there was an option to have the shirt without it then my order would already be in. Just a random thought but how about going back to how it was in the pioneer days and having the plain shirt and having to pay extra for the sponsors name on it.

top looks nice apart from the black piping ??? whats with that, but i think its a bit embarrasing to still sport the 3 stars for trophies we won sooo long ago, only world cup winners should wear a star on their shirt surely...too much of a sales gimmick for me

Truckerblue I take your point regarding choice. However as long standing fans that we evidently both are im sure you're aware of the money focused side to football these days. There us no getting away from it much as I would like to. The plain fact us without Evans backing Town would be long gone.

would long be gone. If he is using the Club for advertising t

I agree with losing the stars. If every club used stars for every major trophy win some teams like Celtic, Liverpool and Man Utd would have almost as many stars at the US flag.

I like it.

A more interesting point is that a superb range of "benchwear" is likely to appear to compliment the shirt.

Nice shirt, but I won't be buying one at that price, Mr Evans.

New kit looks excellent (orange away kit too) - simple yet classy - but I won't be buying one at £45. Not if they only last one season.

ArnieM. I agree with you totally without ME we'd be in the proverbial. I just feel if the choice was there they'd sell a LOT more shirts. Still money going into the club.

As for the three stars if it embarrasses people to be proud if winning three major trophies for a club of our size so be it. At least we didn't buy our trophies like the clubs mentioned have done we worked hard and earned them. I will will remain proud of those efforts and the fact I was around for two of them. I doubt with the way football is set up today that we will ever see it happening again.
