Recently published Town book Adventures of a Tractor Boy has now sold 500 copies, raising £1,000 for the Special Care Baby Unit at Colchester Hospital. The book is author Graeme Brooke’s recollections from his many years of following the Blues.

Graeme told TWTD that he is delighted with the Adventures of a Tractor Boy’s sales so far and is pleased that the club are now selling it.

"Ipswich Town have agreed to become official distributors of Adventures of a Tractor Boy and signed copies go on sale with effect from Thursday 19th June," he said. "It will be available from both Planet Blue or online via ITFC Direct.

“Two significant milestones of combined sales of 500 books and Kindle plus the first £1,000 profit have been achieved with all monies going to Colchester Special Care Baby Unit.

“One hundred per cent of the profits from the book will be donated to the Unit at Colchester Hospital who nursed my youngest daughter Leah when she was born eight weeks premature and who is now thankfully a healthy eight-year-old season ticket holder and Junior Blue.”

Graeme has set up a website to support and publicise Adventures of a Tractor Boy and wants readers to send in photos of the book from around the globe with plenty already having been submitted.

These should be emailed to adventuresofatractorboy@gmail.com. All details are on the website. Graeme is also after photos of the book with any well-known person who can be persuaded to be pictured with it.

To read more about the book, visit the website or Facebook page (likes are most welcome), while you can buy a copy from Amazon here, as well as at Planet Blue and Greetings & Gifts, 15c High St, Manningtree CO11 1AG (01206 615262).

I was the third town supporter on the the pre-season trip,to Norway in 1983 and am somewhat disappointed to be referred to as "one of Ray Slegg's mates".
