Town Confirm Stewart Signing
Tuesday, 1st Jul 2014 10:58

Town have confirmed the signing of winger Cameron Stewart on a three-year deal with an option for a further season. Last week, TWTD revealed that the Blues were eyeing the 23-year-old with his proposed permanent deal at Leeds on the verge of collapsing.

Stewart joined the Whites on loan from Hull in January when he also agreed a three-year permanent contract which would have been formalised today with his contract at the KC Stadium up yesterday.

However, with manager Brian McDermott having moved on and the club now under new owner Massimo Cellino, Leeds were keen to extricate themselves from the arrangement.

Stewart was at Town yesterday to undergo his medical before putting pen to paper on his contract this morning.

The Blues were mentioned in connection with a move for Stewart last summer and then again in January.

Stewart was also previously mentioned in connection with a move to Wolves during Blues assistant boss Terry Connor's time in charge at Molineux.

The left-sided wide man began his career with hometown club Manchester United during which time he went on loan to Yeovil and Hull before moving to the KC Stadium on a permanent basis in January 2011.

Having been on loan at Burnley and Blackburn during 2012/13, the former England U17, U19 and U20 international spent the first half of last season on loan with Charlton before making his move to Leeds in January with his Tigers time up this summer.

"I love the down votes - sorry that some of us living in the real world know that other sides unwanted cast offs are not essentially going to change the world here. "

Afraid they are all we can afford at the moment.

Have to say saw him play a few times on the box for Leeds and was underwhelmed by him but age is on his side to improve. Wish him all the best in his tenure at PR and let's hope he adds something to our left hand side. All the best Cameron.

Can't remember this lad but he's young and he's left sided so lets give him a chance. Got to be a positive signing imo

We were crying out for width & especially pace for much of last season so Mick has delivered that with this signing.
The squad is coming together nicely just another keeper plus another central option to the defensive Skuse & Hyam then we will be ready IMHO.
Welcome to ITFC Cameron

......... just a thought, but I wonder how many of you 'euphoric' people would have had this player on your wish list - before he signed ???? - or indeed heard of him !!!

Having said that - we need players and he is the right age - so let's just hope he can play before we all become orgasmic - although some already seem to have reached that point (not unexpected) .....

Hope he does well for us.

Could turn out to be a very good signing. Having been critical of MM this past season, I,m actually really pleased how he has wrapped up this transfer, no messing, just quietly getting the boy here. Stewart has not really settled so far in his career, perhaps the 3 year contract will give him the security he needs to blossom into a top class player. Welcome aboard young man.

Like the speed of the signings with MM. Just gets on with it. Always know something's going on when you don't hear anything. Waits in the wings then pounces.
